I will be picking up the car tomorrow morning from the dealership. The dash lights were dimming on/off bright/dark, the engine idle would raise up to 2k often when im breaking, and plus the Battery light would go on and off randomly on the dash.... Most of you would probaly think its the alternator or solenoid? well nope it turned out to be Bad AC Compressor, even when i dont use AC the compressor still runs I am told.. it was leaking and surging up the electrical system, They also replaced a Voltage Regulator and the wires for it are new, a few other things I ranted about such as seatbelts not retracting and my factory cd player not working always were both covered under the warranty.... All this costed me was $100. plus my Clutch cylinder went 5-6 months ago, I had that claimed under extended warranty too.. so in all, I've spent $200 on warranty claims, and have over 2G repairs done, pretty sweet deal if you ask me.
I wonder what that would cost if there was no warranty???$$$$$$$$
would cost over 2G's and up..

Whenever you run the front defrost (ie. the middle selector is all the way clockwise) the AC runs to dry the air, so with your heat on you get warm, dry air. Tip - if you want to save gas move your heater control 1 click counterclockwise of defrost -- it blows fully on the windshield, but turns off the AC compressor. It just takes longer to defrost.

And to put things in perspective, how much did the extended warranty cost you including the finance charges if any?
Makes me think that I'm gonna make out like a bandit again on warranty claims if I do decide to get the ESP (Gotta see what the dealer wants for it when I take the car in for the 35K service this week)

Wow, you must have a hellacious commute to have 69K on an '05 (I just turned 32K on mine)

I dunno man, I keep hearing that VW's still have electrical issues up the yin yang and their dealer network is next to zip compared to Fords...

NeufCanuk, Your right about Vee Dubz having electrical issues up the ying yang..
also on a good note, got my car back early this morning, and she drives like its brand new again, so its definately worth it to have the car fixed up... its all good on a different note, do the radio stations saved in the actual RADIO or in the GEM module? gapboy/anthonyd/dark puppet?
I ust rolled 61kms on my ST... but then i have had the car since May 20th 2004.... and I've hardly drove it last 2 months...

and it was parked for a bit last winter too!!
left the workorder open... and just today, im going in to get my seatbelts replaced as well as the new radio installed. ford warranty is great/

Yeah my cost to take it to 7/150K was $2160 taxes inc. went for it and now I'm safe aside from maintenance items for a good long time (Unless they try to get smart with me about the CAI, but they never said a peep about it when the car went in so :P )
