I have beaten stock civics with no problem at all. Maybe the driver I donno not my problem. But weight on the cars is the same, tq is higher on the focus what do you think will accelerate faster
EDIT >When I get home I'll find the whole weight and tq formula. to prove it.
Congrats on the car Jay, hope you enjoy it. :)

Daaamn right.
Even tho I wouldn't trade my Focus for a Civic, I must admit I had fun driving my sis' SI.
I mean, the important thing is lovin' it, not what other people think, or else, we wouldn't be driving Focus.
That's a nice car man. 'grats.

Torque is for lawnmowers.
Some of the fastest civics have horrible TQ numbers, BUT they always make max at peak.. and that makes all the difference in the world.... go vtec.

torque is for tractors, HP is for lawnmowers.

it's undeniable that torque is what gets you going, but so long as you drive properly for your torque curve, you're fine.
Focus has lower end grunt, not necessarily high end grunt.

I had 2 yanked out a couple years back.. had a smoke when I walked out of the dentist's office (big no-no), an hour later I was at work in the warehouse carrying on as usual, lifting and all that fun warehouse stuff. I only took the good happy drugs they gave me on the first day, after that I was fine, except for getting really tired of the taste of blood in my mouth. A couple of days eating pudding and ice cream and stuff.. then was back to eating normal food

Well I was meaning stock vs stock. Stock 2005/06 focus 2.0 duratec is 136hp, civic is 140 for the 2006 atleast.
Keep in mind though
Hondas 1.8L SOHC motor makes more HP then Fords 2.0L and almost as much as there 2.3L
In the end I think Honda has the better engineering.

Thats true for 06, but what did their 1.8 SOHC put out last year, sumthin like 127 with V-Tec????
Here stats for the 2004 "Si", I'm sure 05 was a carry over....
Engine 1.7 litre 4 cylinder, SOHC, 16 valves, VTEC
Horsepower 127 @ 6300 rpm
Torque 114 lb-ft @ 4800 rpm
