:lol::lol:
Lucky I went in the thread...I thought something else with that kind of title.
But back to the point...You'll pay for the name if you go with Ford Racing. And Focus Sport make's really good product.

Focussport head had some work done with cosworth, as far as I could read up on them they did perform better than the old focusport heads or the ford racing heads.

Seems to be a hot topic over at FJ. I don't think there have been any direct comparison tests yet.
Yes, the FS was done in the Cosworth shop, and tested on their flow bench. The problem is that the flow charts are done at different degrees, so its not easy to compare specs directly.
However, seeing that the Cossie unit is a brand new piece, leads me to believe that it would have more testing than the FR one. That, and I would want a Powered by Cosworth windshield banner. :D

Second that.

i'd go with the FR head .. the focussport head is just basically a stock head with a few mods to it and still use's all the stock valve train and such ... not worth it for the money

Isn't the ford racing head the same deal unless you buy the upgrades...?

the focussport head reuses ALL the stock parts from whichever used head they are machining for you
and the FR head is a brand new cnc'd head using larger intake and exhaust valves with stock springs, tappets, lifters .... and it also costs $400 less and you get to keep your stock head as a spare unlike the FS head

We have the FR head in the car and it has been so far, so good. But the real test will be to see what kind of power the car produces with the tune in the next month.
Some say it will get worse with the head and the SC.
Some say I am going to be replacing the motor.
All is good.
Who wants to watch me blow some shat up?
Not the boy I tell ya.

Doesn't the FS increase the compression ratio from 9.6:1 to 10.2:1 by shaving it. This would be very bad if you're looking at forced induction in the neer futur. Go with FR or get a custom at focus central. Only get the FS if they keep the factory compression of 9.6, on forced inductuction you want to lower the compression not increase it, unless you got lots of race gas on hand :P

We should have the car tuned by then and I'll let you know if the expense of the head is worth it.
