Marcus Gronholm just won the Monte Carlo (Monaco) Rally in the first event of the 2006 WRC calendar. He led for most of the rally and won with a little over a minute on 2nd place, and reigning double-champ, Sebastien Loeb.
The all-new Focus WRC-2006 car looks to be a serious contender if Gronholm can keep up this pace and accuracy.
Mikko Hirvonen, Ford's other driver, was 8th overall with a solid run.

Well, it will be nice if Gronholm can duplicate the season he had with Peugeot when they introduced the new 206WRC, and he took the title.
nice victory for Marcus - he basically was cruising after Loeb crashed on the last stage Friday. He really wasn't showing the true speed on the new car - so far its looking good but ............. you know Loeb, and Solberg will always be there !! Its shaping up to be an interesting year.
