The glass roof does not open and move.

That glass has more rigidity than steel.

Just think of it this way. If a rock hits your windsheild, how often does it get damaged. If a rock hits the hood, how often does it get damaged.

Your going to have alot better roof with the glass.

And we asked the same question about the heat in that thing. Apparently there is going to be a button to push that changes the glass to reflective to disperse heat and sunlight away from the vehicle. I am not quite sure how it's going to work, but I have an idea.
Have you ever seen the bathroom windows that change from clear to opaque with the flick on a light switch? Same concept I believe.

And Nos, you aren't receiving my point. See it in person and you won't think it looks anything like the Mirano.

Regarding the glass roof changing from permitting light through to reflective, I've seen that feature touted on several cars that are coming out soon. My only question is is there a failsafe "default" mode (IE: reflective if a problem is detected?) and what ensures that the entire roof stays in one mode?

Sorry, tech geek in me is more awake than the rest of me

In that case, I hope Stockfish gets one when they launch. I'd love to be proven wrong :)

Looks like it does from the press info.

Too many paint fumes over the years I guess.
What the hell do I know. I'm just the crash test dummy.

The units I worked on had solid glass roofs.

My mistake.

They were just prototypes.
