sombody i know told me it could be de tps.

can someone tell me what it could be.
Do a search for DPFE sensor.

Dollars to doughnuts either that or your fuel pump.

Or spark plugs and wires corroded as they tend to do on the Focus. I had the exact same symptom, stumbled at cruising speed.

dpfe???
Check what AD said...check your wires going to your coil pack to. Not the spark plug wires, but the ones that plug into the coil pack on front of it, towards the bottom. These wires, if broken or corroded will cause the symptoms your describing.

this could be why the engine as become so noisy lately

it make a grgrgrgrgrgrg noise instead of a vvvvvvvvvvvv noise

hope you understand
K, I'd check the spark plugs & Plug wires first. check the tips of the wires on both ends, make sure you dont see ANY rust on them....

Then check the coil pack wiring harness.

The grgrgrgrgrgrg could be gear roll over noise.

manual or auto?
Check your oil level??? :o

Other than that... can you pop the hood and pinpoint exactly where the altered noise is coming from? Exhaust? Valvetrain?

That's not a good noise to have under the hood, not at all.
I know what sound he's talking about since I had the same. I doubt it has anything to do with his clutch and tranny at this point, especially with the mis-firing comment.

You guys are probably scaring the crap out of him.

Check your plugs and wires man!! Look for water in your cylinder chambers to :o
MANUAL TRANS.

OIL IS FINE, CHECK IT EVERY MORNING

GEAR ROLL OVER, IS THIS THE NOISE I HEAR WHEN I'M UNDER 2K

SOUNDS FINE ON IDLE , GRGRGR'S ONLY WHEN ROLLING, ALMOST LIKE ONE PISTON IS MISSING
a similar thing happened to my car on my drive from ON to SK. Car was cutting out, no power at all. My CEL came on and then started blinking.

The manual said that if the CEL starts blinking, the engine is mis firing, took it in and it was the fuel pump recall.
tried my car yesterday night

pushed it real hard up to the rev.limiter in third gear no missfireing at all.

i don't get it!!

anyway i received my recall from ford i will get it checked at the same time
