i want to buy a new shift knob, but don't konw which one yet ... so post up what you've got .

stock. love it.

Mine is from a 2001-02 (I think those are the years) Mercury Cougar.. Looks similar to the 2003-04 Focus knob, except it's leather instead of that rubber stuff.

Question for ya... the surround around the shift boot... is that stock or painted... or where did you get it? I mean the silver surround part!

It's not stock. Steeda sells them in a few different colors, I found some on Ebay, but they only came in chrome.

Yeah, that's why I don't have one. Looks good, but I'll never drop $70 on that. I can see that much for billet aluminum, but plastic?

EXACTLY!!! SOme guys said they got them off ebay for like $10... I'll keep my eyes open on there!

mine is the stock Street Edition one........ I'm thinking of installing my hand made Italian one I bought for my 97 Escort back in 1999, I think I paid somewhere near $200 for it ? :blink:

It's the shift surround made by Gear Concept (or they were called that at one point anyway). I got it from myfordperformance.com I think, he had it on clearance since they had extra yellow ones (I painted it to match the CD silver).

Steeda sells the same thing, but I dont know where they get off trying to charge $70 for a piece of plastic. I didnt pay any more than $20 for it..
