before realize dpfe is going out, i thought it is fuel pump problem..
dealer checked my vin and they said no recall on mine..
but after contacting ford directly, and they must have said some to ford dealer..
they are going to replace fuel pump or fdm at no charge..
should i take off sct chip before traking in??
Ya i would remove any tuning just in case they try to pull that card on you. dealer ships are full of tools most of the time trying to catch u doing something
thought so..
i hope they are not going to dump 91 octane fuel for their use and fill in with 87..
because i got about 3/4 tank right now..
Dealerships have better things to do than to steal your gas.

BTW where are you taking it? I have never had a problem with Thorncrest Sherway, also member 06GTPony is the parts guy at Evans on Dundas.
i m taking it to dixie ford..

HOLD UP!!!

Do NOT take it to Dixie Ford...Take it to Sheridan Ford Dixie and Lakeshore.

Dixie Ford sucks balls they are the biggest crooks and useless tits..

My 2cents

Have to defend Dixie Ford here, they've always shot straight with me.

Shawn Marskell in parts is an SVTOA member like myself.

NefCanuck
I would personally take it to evans ford where 06GTpony works, i have had almost all service work and warranty done on my car there and never had a problem.
i dropped my car at dixe today..

service guy doesn't even know what i m talking about..
quality service manager, business development coordinator and service manager were all friendly and very quick with reply and they werte willing to find out vin for me..
and they sure said to me there is recall..

but when i went there to get my Fuel Delivery Module replaced, service guy were very rude and asking me what problems i m experiencing with, i answered all and i told him about there is recall on it..

and this service guy keep saying it is NOT RECALL, it is "concern"..
then wth is with 1/4 tank cornering and stall and hesitation??

dropped off my car and 2 hours later, asking me how to open hood, then another 1 hour later, all in sudden he is being nice..he is telling me that maf sensor is reading weird..and he is going to replace fuel pump but asking me to replace maf sensor and pay another $100 for fuel filter..i refused offers..

i was expecting from him saying "DPFE, EGR" because I used chopstick to stop the egr system..egr valve is stuck open and air filter is sucking in gas or something to trick maf sensor..i believe maf sensor is fine..maybe not but it is not giving me major problem..

he was rude at first time because my car looked alllll tuned up..but he is not anymore after pop hood open.

thanks god i didn't put TURBO..

anyway i have to pick up tomorrow around noon..
Fuel filter is about $15. I replaced it myself a few weeks ago. It is not too difficult.

I have an extra stock MAF that you can swap out with to see if it was your MAF giving you problems, that is if whatever they do does not work.
Whats wrong with having a Turbo, I took my Turbo Focus into Yorkdale Ford to get the key cylinder replaced when I was called to pick it up the service advisor brought me into the shop to drive my car out cause they pushed it in because they didn't want to dirty the sparco's I was cool with that lol when I walked into the shop all of the bays had no mechanics till I saw my car with about 12 Mechanics crammed looking under the hood lol they had a few questions for me I stayed and chatted for a bit and then they asked me to start it up and give it a rev they were slightly impressed and then shocked when I opened the cutout. All of them were giving me props and high fives lol
If your EGR is pooched, you should either block it off (so nothing is going back into the intake tract), or replace it.

If it's not working and it's not totally blocked off/disabled, then it will cause erratic behaviour and could produce symptoms similar to a bad MAF.
because yours wasn't related to fuel pump, it was key cylinder right??
that is why they don't care
but my case was related to performance, if dealer sees all aftermarket and saying fuel pump is bad, then they are not going to be happy about it..

they even blame on cd deck when cigar lighter jack is not working..
got my point??

anyway, here is update..
i picked up car and note saying that, my fuel pump was 50 at idle but on the road, pressure dropped down to 15psi..

yeah i only blocked dpfe side, i will have to do samething on egr valve itself..
until i do manual trans swap and retune chip to manual with egr disabled..
oh 1 question..
if i disable egr by tune, then can i take out whole egr assy and dpfe assy as well??

Until you need an emmision test. Then all factory installed emmision control components need to be in place, unless you pay off the tester or shop.
hmm..i thought i can pass emission test without egr system??
I don't think u can pass without ur egr crap
then when you have turbo, what do you do??
i thought egr is removed when doing turbo??

Then you put the car up for sale before your next e-test.

That's what it appears everyone on here with a turbo focus has done... (...except kamilk69 )

My car has passed e-test twice with a SC (emission stuff intact) and I am going for my third test this August.
if you know someone that has a shop and is willing to help you out.

then get another focus with the same engine and etest the stock focus with your vin and your good to go.
