I know it is ugly

I know it is GM

I know it is a pig, slow and heavy(4100lb)

BUT

it can save you gas bill

on the 5sp 2.2L engine model
MPG 30city/46city
approx =
5.1L per 100km on hwy
65L tank
let say 60L tank
it will go 1166km per tank. :blink:
better than a civic.....

I see one parked on my drive to work, I can attest to it's fugliness.

I find that consumption a bit hard to believe? Did you or whoever did the math use the right king of gallons (US vs Imperial)?
1gallon = 3.78L
1mile = 1.609km

46miles = 1G
46miles = 3.78L
74.014Km = 3.78L
100km = 5.0666L

Civic
100km = 5.7L

I find it hard to believe too. GM has been known to fudge the truth about gas mileage, mainly because mostly everything they build wastes more gas then most other cars out there, other then the good old Geo Metros of the 90's.

Not to mention, GM's cars / truck have been reported to be more pollutive then anyone else on the market currently other then their SAAB branch.

1Gallon = 4.54L

3.78L = 1 US Gallon.

Please recalculate <_<

how could it weigh that much and get that mileage? maybe if it was going down a steep steep hill?
Well I checked it out on the GM Canada site and those are indeed the advertised numbers. :huh: Man than thing must be slow.
Can't believe they're using it to replace the neon/sx 2.0 :o

i wouldn't go to far on that... my cavalier is rated at 41mpg highway, i get about 48 on the hwy with 200,000kms. a little over 1000kms on a 52L tank hwy, and about 700 city...

Alot of GM cars aren't made to be good on gas milage, like ford, like chrsler etc.. but those that are made to save on gas consumption get pretty good IMO, the new cobalt gets about 41(i think) mpg AND their minivans (which are butt ugly) have the best milage in it's class.
It was featured om Motorweek on the weekend and they said 27mpg highway for the smaller engine with stick so I'm not sure what is going on with this 46mpg?
