Is the camera car an automatic? The right hand of the driver never seems to move away from the steering wheel.
I thought that was the video of the SVT Lightning pick up truck chasing the Ford GT and hence the shifting of the transmission without having to take two hands off the wheel.

Now that you mention it, it could be the truck! Because the shifter seems on be on the steering wheel. I thought iwas a mustang cause the guages + steering wheel looks like a mustang. You can see some major understeer near the end of the vid though, guy turns wheel and the car kept going straight...

The whine gives it away, it's a lightning i posted the video here a week and a half ago. It's got a shift kit to, that's a given :)

That Protege was at Shannonville SVTOA when I was there. I'm not sure exactly what he's done to it, but it's a total track whore. Really nicely done. Just the things I noticed:
-Completely gutted, only 1 race seat inside, no cage though
-Exhaust dumps in front of rear tire, boost gauge... probably making more power than stock
-StopTech brakes, awesome setup
-Avon R compounds
Him and I were actually pretty evenly matched. In the last, or second to last session, he passed me early on (the ONLY car to do so), but I passed him by the end of the session.

That vid was pretty kickass...
Lightning looks like a handfull on the track.
Obviously the Protege passed them both....they signaled him to pass them..:s Doesn't really look like that big of a deal to me.
The Lightning sounds like my GTP :) And it doesn't sound like it has a s**t kit, if it does, it's not really hardcore.
It's seems like it got a shift kit, no lightning shifts that hard that i ever seen. I seen about 40 lightning movies and non shift hard like that. i seen one with a shift kit and it shifted a little harder harder then this one but if u watch one without a kit it's shifts much different. Unless it's got a tuner and it firmed up the shifts but it shifts much different then most.

actually if you looked at the speed they were going, the truck was going about 100 ~ 120 kms/h. So yeah, it was not till the Mazda passed them that they pushed it up to 140ish....
2 years ago, Mazda released a small number of those 4door protege with turbo and goodies, they had this retarded pagoda style spoiler. Most are that orange color, which at the time was unique in the mazda lineup. Even more rare are the blue ones.

Only 1200...theres like 200 in Ontario rest in the states for that 2003 mazdaspeed... Spicy orange was the only color available, Black was available in the states but not here...the Blue one is another model, not a Mazdaspeed. They called it MP3...that one is really rare now.
Then again, looking at the video, the ford gt was bone stock while this mazdaspeed was heavily modded most imporantly was the R tires...i was surprised that it passed in the striaghts since this car is really good in the corners

In the video the guy driving the GT is a ford engineer and it was his first time in the car so he is really takin his time in it, thet GT would just destroy all the cars that were there including the mazdaspeed
