thats nothing, I saw this a year ago, french technoligie, the guy had a 3d helicopter on a computer with control setup like a video game, and he was flying it into an auditoruim full of people using this technoligie, it was sick.

I'll try to find this demo.
Eventually the medium of the giant flat panel on a wall infront of you needs to be replaced with a more immersive format. By the time it happens I'll be an old fart complaining about how when I was younger, TVs were more than good enough...
hmm. intresting...........

Yeah, that was an aweseom demo that was leaked last year.
WTF... that's amazing.. Someone's gonna do a Palpatine video and that'll be the end of it. No further development required. :P

Would be pretty cool tho. The best would be if someone could make that holographic game that you see Chewie and R2-D2 playing on in the Falcon during Star Wars IV... amazing stuff
I thought that device only displayed a 2D image in layers of mist to make it 'look' 3D.

Well if you think about it a real hologram is kinda impossible with our current technology. A real hologram would work by trapping light in a certain location with some invisible force that doesn't bend/distort the light pattern. Talking star wars tech, the same principle applies to a light sabre. We can't make one because a laser can't be stopped mid beam unless it encounters an object. Light projected will go on forever (unless it encounters sufficient gravity to slow it down).
Unfortunately....

*wishes*

nope still doesn't exist.
