I was looking at the 2010 Fusion hybird and i wanted to see how much it would cost me.
Here is the brake down. Cost around 32000+7.99% finance rate. 41000$
Regular Fusion is 22000+0% finance rate for 5yrs. 22000$
Ford, what gives? why are they doing this?
Difference would be around 19000$, how are you suppose to evenout and have savings? They should try to have 0% fianance rate so atleast ppl would consider them. This whole hybird business is all BS. People would only start caring about enviroment when they start saving money!
if you want that in gas/kms, it would be something like 190000kms before you are even with a regular gas model. That is based on 1.0$ per litre and 10L/100kms fuel consumption.
I think part of the "appeal" for Hybrids is the reduction in consumption of a non-renewable resource and the reduction of toxic emissions. If you do a lot of stop and go driving, then maybe the Hybrid is a good idea.

But in terms of performance and equipment levels a more accurate comparison would be against the SEL V6 ... so although still a lot of money, not the huge dfference between the Hybrid and the SEL V6 as there is between it and the SE 5-speed.
yeah but you guys are also forgetting that they charge more on hybrids for the warentees, and for the tech, and batterys, it's why they have larger interest rates over the standard car.
2010 Fusion Sport AWD...awesome car! Rear looks like a Ford Falcon from Australia, and the front looks like a Saab Turbo...certainly looks more "Business" than the outgoing model.
Hybrid...would only be interested in one of them if you could get it in a NON wussy colour, and if you could have the decklid spoiler and rims from the sport outfitted to it...
You can get the Hybrid in black and as for the other bits, you wanna play? You gotta pay :D

Oh I know that I'd have to fork out additional money to customize the car right from the get-go. Same as I had to spend thousands of dollars to make my former ZX3 look and perform more the way I wanted.
I've got nothing against Hybrids, except for the fact that most of them are blatantly made to look nothing like anything else on the road, or they come in weak colour choices, both inside and out (think seafoam green or robin's egg blue with a tan cloth interior...yuck). I think the Escalade Hybrid, the Malibu Hybrid, and perhaps the Fusion are the only exceptions (they look halfways cool, rather than lame).
I've seen a couple of Fusion Hybrids at the Lincoln Heights Ford dealership on Richmond here in Ottawa, and they weren't too bad...didn't have weird colours or weird rims to set them apart from the gas powered units. Though the triple black AWD Sport they had there was very choice, and reminded me of the Saab SPG's of old, or the new Turbo X...has that kind of stealth performance look/feel to it.
Hmmm, that 41K is wrong I believe, unless you pay no taxes!
It's more like 44K
