Got them wired up and such exactly how the book says. Its pretty easy and not much you can screw up. Me and my buddy double checked it over so many times.

So we figuring it has to do something with the e-code hellas messing with the stock harness. Seriosly I got like 1 million wires coming from the ecode tails even auto adjusting and eveything. Ahh wires everywhere.

I wonder if I even have the Hellas even hook up right. I thought I had the manual but when it come to looking at it know go. So if any one has it can you hook me up..

Any way heres what happens.

Note my HIDs are hooked up into the projector housing (inside). The outside housing has 2 bulbs. The high beam and another bulb on the bottom witch doesnt do anything?

Lights off turn key on. Both light (Projector with HID) s come on good.
Turn lights on they turn up a little brighter.

Then! As soon as I turn the car right on and one light (passenger side) turns right off but the driver side keeps working. I shut and turn lights off and on and nope. The one light is still dead. I cant figure out what it could be. Like i said i double, triple check everything. Even my buddy checked.

Any help or tips would be appreciated.

when the car is on get a multimeter and follow your connections and find out where the current stops? it sorta sounds like the is like built in protection in the ballast that shuts the light off if it detects a surge or something? you can measure the current before and after the ballast, while the car is on and off see if there is a spike? also try swapping the ballasts see if that helps? you basically want to trouble shoot and eliminate things as you go I find it easier to start at the source then work your way down.
hmmm. Im going to try that.

Even the manual say the cause of a light shutting off would be a voltage drop :S
ok first of all... i'd suggest that u disable your DRL, coz if u keep your DRL, ur HID ballast will die fast (since DRL is letting less power to the lights, hence to the ballast with your current setup, not enough power to the ballast = ballast wear out fast), as u also found out that when your lights are dimmer when your light switch is at the off position.
OR, u can do something to the fuse box and let to DRL to have 100% low beam power.

now, on top of that, get new fuses for the headlights (low beam), get both to 15amps or 20amps.... stock is 10amps which is limiting the power to the lights. That's the main reason for the voltage drop that u had... (coz i had similar problem on the passenger side light when i first installed the HID into the hella projectors e-code)

go try these first and see what happens.... if there's any further problem.. i'm here to help =)
yes it's 100% your DRL's that are the root of the problem...

you have to convert your DRL's to the highbeam bulb ONLY [or disable them completely] ....and you will be good to go...no worries about fuses or anything

I had the exact same problem, and that was the cure for it...
DRLs was what is was LOL. Relay #12 on the 2003. Took her out and BAM! Works awsome now. Now I need to hook up my bottom driving lights for day times...will just a switch lol
u can actually do it in the euro way :D u can use the small bulb on the outer light housing (the city light) for DRL =)

Can you tell me how you did this?

That's taking me WAY back lol ....but if i remember correctly i did some fancy wiring under the fusebox under the hood..some cutting and jumping of wires...man, i wish i documented it when i did it...damn

I have the DRF mod done in my car, all you do is jump a wire from the fog relay slot and join it to 2 slots on the DRL relay spot. Cant remember which ones offhand, but if the 2002 and 2003 fog/DRL relays are in the same spot, you can come look at my fuse box to copy it if you want Jay.

Or Paolo knows how to do it and probably has all the information still since the ofoc site doesnt seem to be up right now.
