I have 6.5" in the front doors and they fit but I had to make an adapter plate. I have some left over 1/4" MDF if you want it!

get 6.5" with a 1" tweeter
I used spacer plates about a half inch thick to mount the 6.5" in my doors like 2 weeks ago! I ran the x-overs into my glovebox and my cd-pocket, and mounted the tweeters onto the pillars..(for now till i can flush mount them)

Hey why not go with a 5x7 component, Im think of changing mine, I installed 6.5 components and mounted the x-over in the door. Im gettig either the JL XR 5x7 or the Infinity reference 5x7, how much do you want to spend? I cant get the JL and Infinity at awesome prices. PM me for Info (or if you want 6.5)

6.5 tweet... you can fit both in the doors easily.

Cool, I thought that a 5.25" would be easier to mount considering it's a 5x7 opening but if 6.5" has worked for you guys, I'll go 6.5
David, shoot me some prices dude. Doesn't hurt to shop around.

Sounds good Steve. If not, I'll come catch you before you go home after work some day and check them out then. I've been debating on size for a while because I wasn't sure how I wanted to set the sound stage... I'm thinking I'll stick the tweeters in the spot some people have power window switches, and go from there.

I prefer the stockish look of everything hidden :)
Does your car have power windows al?

My tweeters are mounted in the middle of the woofer but are still totally independant from the woofer. From audio guru's I hear this is one of the best ways to do it but who knows.

No power on mine, Steve. And I like the look of stock to, but this is the way I wanna do it. Looks pretty stock to me:

go 6.5's, this way when you remove them when ya buy a new car you can keep them. If you take 5x7's or 5.25's their mainly for fords. Unless you buy another ford down the road. Plus i think 6.5's sound better too.

Would definitely stay away from 5x7's... I've got 5x7/6x8's all around as it is... I wanna go round speakers. They sound better.
