I basically got all the other basic bolt ons/mods right now (TB, UDP, SCT, INTAKE) among other mods but I am only running a MBRP catback (which I love).

Wondering what you all would suggest me to get. I do NOT want my car any louder or much louder (cause I know any change to the header will change that) and curious as to what you guys recommend.

I want to keep the MBRP so keep that in mind. Open to all suggestions. The next BIG performance step I'm thinking of is the front 1/2 of the exhaust, engine to catback system.
I dont know if your going to be able to keep it quiet if your opening up the front half.

I would suugest a focus sport stealth exhauts with there headers and flex. I know you wanted to keep the MBRP, but I cant see you modding the front half and being quiet with that exhaust.

Or you do your other half of the exhuast system and install an additional resonator to quiet things down.
We are about to embark down the road to a changed exhaust ourselves, with the same idea that you have, increased hp without the noise.
With the many inquiries on here and the phone calls/emails I have made, I found that the shorty header/hi-flow cat/ 2.5" flex pipe is going to give you the same results as the race header, that doesn't have a cat, without the noise.
Time will tell if it's true.
From what I have learned, the larger the flex, the better the increase. You can get smaller flex pipes, but I went after the biggest that would work from Trubenz.
thought about using some SVT parts??
I was thinking the SVT combo thing at http://www.mcnewsautomotive.com cause it's HIGHLY RATED on FF but yeah I am expecting some more volume in the exhaust.

In all honestly I don't know if I will even finish the exhaust up, just getting some ideas. I got several of my own but I wanted to get some opinions from everyone on here.
I had a Brullen Exhaust, probably a little quieter than the MBRP. Everything was pretty mellow until I put on the short header, high flow cat and larger flex. The car became pretty loud for my taste...

Probably not as loud as the race header, but its going to get louder...theres no avoiding that.....
The Bosal full stainless steal cat back for the focus is very quiet. Thats what i have and i'm quite pleased with it even with no cat.

I am seriously considering the SVT Combo kit with high flow SVT cat (got to stay legal in Ontario, you can probably replace cat with ORP in Sask.) As far as flex forward this is my best choice considering the retention of a cat.

I thought you were thinking of giving up the focus?
Keep the MBRP, buy a flex and race headers of your choice.

Buy a Hermoff Highflow catalitic converter for a 5.9 liter and weld it on the exaust as close from the flange as you can.

This will make your car sound pretty quiet and you will gain the most.

msg me if you need more info, I ran this setup and it was realy nice.
Dave-

turbo cars are always more quiet than NA. the turbo muffle the exaust tone a LOT.

Yeah I am planning on giving up the focus sometime in the future here. I was thinking about selling it this spring but now that I am almost ensured to get into the City Police here, I will keep it for another year until my finances get back to a stable platform. I've already looked at the VOLVO S40 (loaded) and a Infinity G35 coupe.

It's hard to stop modding though, I just bought more stuff this morning. :D

I will keep that in mind in making my choice. Thanks very much for your input.
forgot to mentionned that that cat had costed me 99$ and 30$ to weld in.

cant beat that price and the 1 hour it took all in all.

you could also run your stock shortie and an off-road pipe and the exaust highflow cat to keep it around 200$ total. (if your on a budget)

Yeah I am not really on a budget but I would like to keep my catback. We'll see. I will definitely contact you man if I go any further with this.
Magnaflow Muffler was pretty quiet for me, even with my shorty headers and my Jackson Racing Supercharger.
I had an AEM exhaust on it before, but it was pretty loud. Sounded good though.

Vito :)

Here's a S40 that was pretty impressive at the Toronto Auto Show:

Yup that S40 is sweet...425 ponies under the hood... :D

Ya but I was told it's somewhere in the ballpark of $70,000 more than a normal S40 costs. That would make it in the $100,000 ballpark figure. Not too shabby when a Viper costs $125,000 and it doesn't even come with power seats.
Yeah that wouldn't be to bad.... :D

For the S40 I'm looking at I believe it's around 42-45 but I get a discount on that. Putting about 20k down so around a $500 car payment (4 year buy, not lease) is pretty decent.

I am heavily leaning towards the S40 but it's looking like a year from right about now. I don't want to jump into something like that (even though I could if I wanted) until I get back from Regina after my training. Another reason is if I don't get in here for some strange reason, it's off to Edmonton.
Well, i have to admit that i'm completly wrong, turbo cars are less noisier then NA cars, Thanks, french connection!
