I was aware of that piece. I hope you are sitting down for this..........I don't think it would look good.
That key hole is something you want to draw attention away from not towards. In stock trim it almost looks like it is not there at all on my car given the dark colour. Also the rubber grommet is partially obsured by the license plate anyway.
Using that logic how do I explain chrome exterior door handles? I don't know but I think it looks right.
It would be a definate for a white or silver car though.

The rubber stock one works just fine.
On the green, this would look like a ghetto fix for a rust patch. :lol:
