the gt500's start at $60,000, but the GTs start at $34,000 -- and right now with family pricing, you get about 5,000 - 6,000 off.

To be honest, with the shelby now only 140HP more than the GT, you could get the GT with the shelby brakes ($1,500 option), and handling pack, and then slap on a supercharger for $5,000 and have shelby-competitive performance for about 40Gs (before taxes).

and even out of the box, the GT is a very fast car.

Thanks for the write-up....if only my kids didn't have anything past their kneecaps!
BTW with the tune on my Marauder the auto is very instant as I imagine the Stang would be with a good tune.

I thought the 2011 GT started at $38,500 CDN? Huh

I think he meant by this that the $34000 is including the family plan discount.
