Just wondering... how hard is it to do the conversion to rear discs from drums? If it isn't too bad I might be in for a rear set up. If not, I'd be in for rear drums (L&R).

Some on here have done it and found it to be relatively easy ... but if your car is older and all the bolts are seized, or if you don't have the appropriate tools, or you don't have a decent place to do the work, or you don't have a lot of experience with this kind of work ... then you might be in for a challenge.

I personally have chosen to pay a mechanic to do it the two (or is is three) times I've done that conversion.
That sounds like great advice. After all, these are brakes we're talking about. Seems a little more serious than changing spark plugs... lol. Just curious, what's the average labour cost to get that done? I know it will vary, but I'm interested to know what I'm in for. Haha.

depending on where its done it wouldn't surprise me if its at least half of the cost of the brake kit.
I might be in for some front pads, depending on price.

I might be in for a set of rear drums. Though about the conversion and don't really want the hassle of doing it right now...
im out for front Sad as i had to replace them on Friday i thought they would last tell the group buy but. so shes got new calipers rotors and pads up front now.

id still be in for the rear rotors and pads thow.
this needs to happen soon or I'm out as well. I can only wait so long.
Dam!
I just got all new pads and rotors front and back or else I'd be in for sure.
So with all the stuff going down with my mom over the last few months I've kind of dropped the ball on this ... any interest in resurrecting this group buy - if so I can get it going for delivery at the beginning of December.

I need new fronts for the Fusion, so I'd be #1 - just need 4 or 5 more to make it happen ... plus I could add in suspension stuff too.

Let me know - thanks and cheers.

Ken
Haha, you always bring this up right when I have no money!! I'll have to do some digging but I'm in.

Hi Ken. I'm in, does that make 3?

I'm looking for SVT centric premium front discs and if possible new front hubs also for SVT.

Yeah it already happened Kev ... delivered most of the products in December and the last of the orders early in January.

My plan was to do another series of spring GBs in March ... I might be able to get GB pricing for a small order though, so let me know what you want and I can quote you a price.
my memory is getting bad....old age Tongue

Rear Rotors/Pads for 02 SVTF. For Rotors quality blanks for Pads OEM or hawk .

My old rotors have cracked making a grinding noise...so unless this is in the next two-three weeks I will probably just have to bight the bullet and call ford.

So ... even though I don't need anything myself, I don't mind doing it again if there is enough demand ... so post up if you're interested.

Also: I was thinking that to make it more viable, perhaps we could extend it to some other clubs like the Fusion club or the Mazda guys ... any thoughts on that?

Cheers

Ken

Would this include purchase of new svt rear conversion kit for an 07 zx3?
Nevermind haha just read the end of the thread see that this has already happened lol... My bad!

The next series of Group Buys will be in March ... there's a Group Buy forum so that's where they will be posted.

My supplier reps more than a hundred brands, so there's hardly nothing I can't get.
