I know this is probably late for most, but as most of you know I've been busy with family stuff this fall ... in any event, I think these prices are pretty good and if you need inexpensive installation, my mechanic offers mounting, balancing and installation for $12 per corner.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS - PLEASE READ FIRST:

1. Prices are CAD and include everything except HST – based on meeting up in GTA for delivery.
2. 20% PayPal deposit required to confirm order; balance is COD, or PayPal (add 3% for PayPal). I will issue a detailed PayPal invoice for the deposit.
3. Plan is to place the order on or about November 16 for delivery to you no later than December 1st.
4. Prices are available to everyone, no minimum required - I have 3 orders already from neighbours so this is already a go.
5. Tires are priced individually, but must be ordered in pairs.
6. No “I think I can get it cheaper somewhere else” posts ... if you can beat these prices, landed and with exchange, then do your own group buy and I’ll be the first in line.

* - this is slightly larger than stock (taller sidewall) but will fit even the lowest Focus. There is generally a larger selection at lower price in 55 series vs. 50.
I'd be all over this but I bought some W409's last year.
By any chance though if you do this again, can you get the W409's in 17" size?
I'm interested.

I'll pm you the details.
pm'ed
ken, can you please PM me your phone number and email. I have couple of friends that want to buy some tires, but are not from this site.
Ken can you get winters for a 2010 Ford escape stock size is 235-70-16....Let me know

Mo - PM'd ... and yes, I can get all sizes - I just posted up what I thought would be the most typical Focus sizes.

I will price out the 17's and Escape sizes in a bit and post them up.
Original Post now updated with 17" sizes for Focus and Subaru and Escape 16"
Ken can you get black steelies too

Not any more - I had a good supply available in the spring but that source is sold out for the season.

Having said that, I can get a real nice set of alloy rims for your Escape for the same price as a set of steelies from Canadian Tire - 89.00 + HST for 16 x 7 - 5/100 gloss black with machined lip.
im getting mixed reviews online? whats a better snow tire i dont care so much on the performance aspects of the tire(sporty feel not mushy) i just want a good snow tire.

i will be driving on mostly snow packed roads but with an annual snowfall of like 190cm i will be driving in some fresh stuff to.

dose any one run eather of the Falken/Hankook?

Hankook Ice Bear W300
Falken Eurowinter HS439

you can count me in on this buy i just gota decide on a tire.

also im leaning on 205-50-17 over the stock 215-45-17 just for the cheaper price and size.

Here's what I can tell you. On my wife's Fusion we have Michelin X-Ice from 2 year ago ... last year I put the Hankook Winterbear on my Fusion ... quite superior to the Michelin IMO and that's for in snow, on ice and on bare roads. Now I know that mfg are always making improvements, so the comparison to the new Michelins may not give the same result.

I personally am a big fan of Falken tires - I've had many, many sets of summer rubber on both the Fusion and many Focus over the years ... and so I decided this year to try a set of the Falken Espia EPZ on the track rat which I put on last week.

This is a new tire so there isn't much history - but I can tell you that I really like its bare road performance so far and I'm counting on Falken's reputation, and the fact that tires seem to get a bit better every year, to give me excellent snow and ice performance.

Bottom line: I have no hesitation recommending the Hankook, and I'd bet dollars to donuts that the Falken will be a good tire too.

Hope this helps a bit.
I did my research on Hankook Ice Bear W300 and didn't really get a good review about them. Basicly they are good for Toronto folks who are not going to be driving on snow packed roads.

Just some quotes:

-"Whatever you do dont get the w300...u might aswell use ur proxies...chances r in snow over 1" the proxies will out perform the w300...not sure about your other choices but if you are lookin for some fun on ice and snow keep it skinny"

-"I've owned both, and here is how I would compare them:

If your snow driving consists mostly of light snow, wet roads, and a lot of around city driving, the W300s would be the best choice. They handle quite well for a snow tire, but they do wear fairly quick.

If you do a lot of deep snow driving, travel the mountain passes, or just get a lot of snow in your area, the W409s would be the best pick. They handle very well in the dry, but not quite as well as the W300. In deep snow the W409s are a step above the W300s though.

I ski and snowboard a lot so I drive the mountain passes and encounter deep snow more than the average person, so I current run W409s. If I didn't ski/snowboard and mainly drive around town, I'd definitely have W300s on my car."

-"I have owned the ice bears. They do not like snow, and braking on ice is like a slip'n slide. I have opted for the Michelin Pilot Alpin PA3 this time on the new car. 225/45/17. Should be great fun."

Just thowing it out there. Basicly I need a nice snow tire that is good for snow roads. Do not care about perfomance as well.
I use the iPike W409's and they are awesome.. only thing is they aren't the best on ice, which seems to be a common occurence for the Hankook tires.
Other than that, I go up to Sudbury often and down there for the Christmas holidays and I can drive around like nothing with those tires. I'm actually in a small town north of Sudbury which isn't busy so there is more snow. Then driving on the 69 south snow packed was fine, was passing people with AWD vehicles no problem.
coming from Ottawa and dealing with a lot of freezing rain, I've personally never really seen a winter tires thats made me go "OMG!! WOW, what an awesome tire" for stopping on ice.

Any winter tire will stop better than an all season.
Yeah, on ice they aren't really that good unless you have studs, but those are illegal here. My Dad is running some studded winters on his F-150 Harley up north. It's got AWD and is a beast in snow/ice.
The W409's are good for deep snow though.

please somebody buy it ... and then kill me and put me out of my misery
Its that time of the year again? Ken any specials on winter tires currently? Are you going to do a GB or do can you still get the same prices?

This is the size i want.
