So I thought I'd be a bit more proactive this year and give some advance notice of the Group Buys I'm contemplating for some time in March.

The purpose of this post is to gauge your interest, get your thoughts / recommendations for parts / brands / timing etc.

Prices should be really good this year because of four things:

1) I've been able to convince my California supplier to forego a 3% charge for credit card transactions by allowing me to direct deposit;

2) My discount is now slightly bigger than last year;

3) My wife now works for RBC and we have a US located bank account that allows me to do transactions in the US with no fees (and I can transfer funds from my Canadian bank account to US bank account at a very advantageous exchange rate and with no fees);

4) The Canadian dollar is particularly strong right now and will likely continue to be throughout the spring.

Here are the Group Buys I think make sense for spring 2011:

1) Brakes*

2) Suspension*

3) Tune up*

4) Accessories and high performance parts*

5) Rims and tires

* The first 4 could for all intents and purposes be considered a single group buy in the sense that I can offer all the parts and source them from one single supplier for the purpose of acheiving a good-sized minimum order.

So ... over to you - let me know what you think.

Cheers

Ken

Found your thread over here, thanks for the heads up! I'm very interested in getting in on ur spring order. I'm curious on prices of a rear svt brake conversion kit, also some lowering springs? Preferrably 1.5" drop no more. Also, prices on an xcal? Thanks a lot!
ill probably be picking up a rear svt brake kit ken.
+1 for suspension. 1.5' drop ideal.

Springs or full suspension? I'm assuming just springs? I want springs with a 1.5" drop as well... Unless there's a good price on a full suspension? Then I might have to wait and pick up a full kit!
I'd want a full kit. Not sure how the stock dampers would hold up with the lower springs. Can these stock dampers hold the 1.5' dropped springs? How are coilovers?

Good question!! Start a new thread! I'm not too familiar with suspension. I'd also like to know if the stock dampers would hold up with lowering springs or if coil-overs are the way to go? And if so which ones do ppl prefer

when i installed my FRPP kit the rear shocks were different, the front 'shocks' had the same part number. and my kits holdin up find for about 50,000kms on it.
when i installed my eibach kit on stock shocks, rears blew but fronts were fine after a year and about 35,000kms of driving. wouldnt surprise me that rears were only difference

I had them on my track car for a while (2 months) but I found them to be just a bit too low and bit too firm ... so I sold them to Kevin (focus_man_focus) and AFAIK he loves them. I guess he has younger kidneys than me LOL.

Cool, I'm thinkin that's what I'm gonna be going with... Full frpp suspension... Gives roughly a 1.5" drop...

"Verrry Niice. I like" (borat)

Yes I am running the FRPP kit the Ken had in the "Track Rat". Yes it is stiff but I can handle it. I did go one step further than Ken when I installed it in my car. I removed the rear spring isolators giving me a further 1/2" to 3/4" of drop in the rear. Ken is an old man, don't listen to him. LOL. She sits nice and level and I love it. At times I wish it was a bit softer as I have some serious back problems.
Hey Ken, could you grab me a price for this please M-2300-SVTF5

Also would you happen to know what is needed to do a swap from st rear discs to svt?
I think I would only need calipers, rotors, and pads???

I'll get you a price later tonight ... and I think you're right about the swap, but I can confirm that later too.
