With 30 votes cast it's a horse race ... bump for more voting.
Next month, I'll probably just give 1 week for nominations and voting to keep things moving...
Fack, so many choices...good call to narrow down the time frame next month.

You may be right about the number of choices (and maybe we should limit the number of nominations) ... but I'm not sure self-nomination is the problem - all of the cars that were nominated are worthy of the competition IMO.
go shawn! Cool

I agree, they are all worthy.

The way I see it is that to me, my focus is focus of the month... every month. If someone else agrees, they can nominate me. I mean if I didn't like my focus I wouldn't be here and I wouldn't be looking for ways to personalize it even more than it already is.
And then, nominating is to suggest car(s) that the nominator believes should be the next FOTM (read: a focus they really like).

So in that sense, it makes nominating yourself kind of redundant/pointless, no?

Edit: as for number of choices; 30 users, 30 foci, everyone gets two nominations. If everyone nom'd themselves, there would be 30 cars. Everyone gets two, can't nominate themselves, you're more likely to find that several people will nominate the same car which reduces the amount of cars to vote from.

For sure you have a point (and I'm not really disagreeing with you) ... but the fact is that we are quite a wide spread group and there may be cars that simply would never get nominated, if not by the owner.

You make a good point too though, I don't personally expect my car to get nominated- but I also don't feel it's ready to be put up against some of the other cars on here so no biggie for me. At least I get more love here than I do on the mopar forum I frequent Tongue
