Does the upper rad support need to be changed to do the conversion?

AFAIK both upper and lower rad support are the same 00 through 07 - all aftermarket cross references point to a single part number.

Damn wish i knew you were doing this conversion a long time ago , could have worked out a trade for my front end parts for your.

Maybe someone else wants to do a front end conversion. i like the original front end on your car.
