Well,

As some of you know from the dyno day, my car made an insane amount of power on the stock block. HP levels were high, however tq levels we still within what i can run before popping the block all over the street.

for those who do not know, I made 278whp and 229wtq. Whp peaked at redline, so another 200 rpm redline and i would likely of gotten as high as 285whp following the curve. tq levels stayed perfect across the board, peaking around 3200rpm and holding until 6k before tapering off any at all.

As some of us know, boost is addictive, however with every addiction there is a cost to it. built motors are not free so i want to substain my stock block for another year or so that way when i get an ST i can pull the motor and rebuild it then.

unfortunately 280whp still isnt enough LOL (ya im crazy)

So whos got some ideas?

im looking at picking up a water meth kit, mainly for those hot days, but also to bump it up a tad. Considering a 2.3l head as im going to pick up a 2.3l block and could use the head while motor is being built. give a bit of a flow difference.

now for those who know the car, they know there is a stock clutch still in it along with Diff. Torsen is on my list and i have a hyper single ready to go already but is there some1 you all recommend for a LSD install? or anyone on here able to do it? ive never pulled apart a tranny so i would at least need assistance as im not overly confident putting a LSD and clutch in a 300hp car

let the ideas flow, and no sean (castone) can not have my turbo kit Smile
drop a 5.0L in Wink

One thing to maybe start looking at is new injectors. I'm not sure what you're running but might be a good idea to up that to 60lb ones before anything. ARP head bolts might be good too. Port and polish head maybe or Ford Racing one. Upgraded valvetrain is something to consider, but bottom end is still questionable. Port out your throttle body too for an extra couple of ponies maybe. Standalone computer maybe too.

Have you thought about going to a Turbosmart Eboost2? Lots of neat little features for it.
I would upgrade the valve train and cams, if some1 actually made a good set of f/i cams.

I'm considering a bigger turbo w/ larger exhaust housing to delay spool a little and increase top end tq between 6k and 7k tho. That way when I do the build I'm ready to go. The injectors are getting close to their max for sure. Piping, intercooler and tb are in my scopes to so I can increase efficiency of the set up.

Past that w/ water meth and a 2.3l head it will be a pretty bad ass set up.

We will see what the winter brings. 300whp? We will see.

I think we know Jamie lmao.....

You should really work out that body roll before even putting more power. Not gonna lie it's a huge one. At this point the car is only good in a straight line. You through it on course road track and it will fail in turns. That's just my observation from driving it twice. Those tires got a huge sidewall.

Definetly put in that LSD, as soon as you hit boost only 1 wheel spinning. It's all good if that one wheel is facing the audience.

Do you have all stiffer engine mounts in there? I can't remember
I'm with nick, LSD, tighen up the engine/suspension.

No point to have 300whp when a 200whp car and dust you at the track in the corners.

Another approach in addition to increasing power might be to put the car on a diet ... carbon fibre hood, lighter brakes and rims ... they say that increasing hp only improves your performance moving in one direction (straight ahead) but that reducing weight improves performance in all directions.
im working on jumping up from 15" wheels to 17". that will be for sure by next summer along with coil overs and LSD. the sportlines i have are holding be back and i know it as far as handling goes. they are simply to soft. they have done me well but its either coilovers or h&r race springs

i also only have the rear mount changed out and i am working on doing the other 2. it wont take much to get the body roll under control as it is mainly attributed to a 6.5" wheel w/ 225's on them. mainly meant for traction and ride comfort

as far as a car diet goes, if i track the car, it will shed the trunk interior and rear seating but past that i like keeping my creature comforts. one day i will make it a track car and have something nicer as a daily car but until then... it stays with leathers and metal
Does the car have only rear sway bar?
big RSB small FSB
ofcourse you could go the european route with boosted engine from sierra/escort cosworth and the drivetrain. make a focos

Oh yeah? And how much would that cost? Rolleyes
I'm in the "upgrade everything else" camp, because I've driven Oscar's car at full-whack (I think he still has the white knuckles to prove it) and while it was tight, more polish is always possible.

Doing the diff can't be THAT hard if you're already going to have everything down to drop in the Hyper Sngle. My biggest regret this year was buying / installing my Spec Stage 3 6-puck and not having the extra for the LSD.

I'd also second the valvetrain upgrade and work on lightening your overall weight where possible (wheels as mentioned, body panels, removing insulation and sound deadener from inside panels, trunk, etc) - if you don't have the time to do forged internals to take more torque, work on making the car work less at moving. I've had fiberglass recommended to me over CF hood unless it's turning into a trailer queen as fiberglass is far easier to fix in case of breaks, chipping, etc. Maybe strip the rear seats and throw in lightweight rear buckets?
im hitting up the track this weekend. see if i break into some 12 second times on street tires. im fairly confident that it will do it, i just havent dragged for over a year

if i can get the car into the 12's i will be more then happy. trunk will have no floor or sub, spare hasnt been in for 3 years nor has the jack.

who wants to come? lol
