what kind of paint should i use?
does it have to be chemical resistance or high temp?
i asked around but wanted to hear more from different ppl.
problem with painting on white is when clearcoat is applied, looks like "piss".
thinking of getting color matched single stage paint doesnt require clearcoat.
i am talking about rattle can, not spray gun.
ideas??

I don't think it needs to be high-temp ... but it seems to me the real problem would be getting it scrupulously clean and warm enough to paint - and I wouldn't bother with clearcoat - just paint it.
you need high temp for valve cover gasket, head, block, and exhaust. Intake should be ok if your not running boost. The rest is ok with standard temp paint.
cool thanks for info, i ll just grab color matched single stage from the states..as i dont know where i can get here in gta area.
i like the look of the white piping....the darker blue on the engine cover looks amazing...i got a couple of spare valve covers if u wanted to paint one see how it looks...i got a blue one but its ford engine blue. Here's a couple of pics...
Pic #2.
Wouldn't black soak the heat Kev?
colour isn't going to change the temp...but if it was red it would add 10hp
I wonder if ceramic coating the charge piping would help more with keeping heat out?
Talking engine bays, the Focus firewall looks terrible. Has anyone thought of putting a sheet of stainless or something there?
BTW, like the looks of the dark blue.
