Kudos to you for taking this on.. It looks scary...
So with this years holiday schedule being so hectic, I haven't gotten to work much on the wire tuck and bay shave Sad but I did manage to get a solid start at shaving down the excess stuff in the engine bay and clean it up a lot.

here's what it currently looks like

those wires along the bottom left will be tucked away, theyre just sitting there waiting to be taped up and ran through the fender/front support.

I will also be painting the engine bay, still undecided on color. Im thinking blue to go with the silver car...not too many colors look good with silver. lol
Where are you sticking the battery?
Battery is already relocated to the trunk.
i'm excited to see this completed Smile
wow this is coming along nicely. i cant wait to see the finished product.
Time for another update! woohoo!

Haven't had much time to work on the focus since xmas, just so busy with work. But I did manage to accumulate several new parts and get some little odds and ends done.

First off. New Steeda competition 28.6mm rear sway bar, definitely a lot larger than stock...by a lot.

Secondly. Picked up a CFM power steering line hose relocate kit...get rid of that ugly PS line going across the front of the valve cover.

Thirdly. Also got a PCV delete from CFM, a nice piece but very sloppily made.

Since I got the PCV delete I need a catch can, so I ordered a small one from Mishimoto, unfortunately the one I had ordered was damaged and it was the last one in stock so I swapped it out for the larger one.

The wire tuck is still in progress, lots of little snags seeing as theres no write up on doing a full blown wire tuck, So still plugging away. will update with more soon.

Seeing as my dash is already out of the car and I've always wanted a smoothed dash...and I have to mold my gauges into it still...out came the bondo! haha a lot of bondo and sanding. what an idea that was...haha

Lots of work to go but it's getting there. Hoping to get it on the road of the summer months!
should have used resin first then bondo to fill in low spots and make it smooth...going to take you forever using just bondo
I was going to, but Im horrible with the resin, i've never had much luck with the resin. So I decided to go with the bond. It's almost done now, just put on the last little bit of bondo then it'll be good to paint.
shoulda just covered it with suede...you'd be done by now Tongue
Pulling together nicely, I like it man can't wait to see it all done Big Grin
After a lot of frustration with a stripped sub frame bolt (lots of torching and grinding), I managed to remove my old and decrepit front sub frame to replace with a nice and shiny newish SVT one from GFXJamie.

Since the sub frames out I lowered the motor and removed all the padding, rubber stuff and rust from the firewall and surrounding area. Also removed all mounting spots for coolant reservoir, power steering reservoir, all the things on the plastic above...so and so forth to shave the engine bay. After a solid coat of primer its starting to look normal again! and superclean!

There are some spots I need to fill in but for the most part its coming along nice. Color is still to be determined. any suggestions!?!? Also, I still need to get the fire wall padding behind the brake booster off still. thinking of just removing it all together but im not sure yet.
looks awesome man love it
why thank you. Now just need to determine color and gloss...either crazy mirrored crimson red with a super glossy finish. or matte blue... or what possibly purple similar to massives....
Well - looks like the site is back up and running.
So finally chose a color. After asking several people and lots of suggestions I chose to go ahead with purple. I couldn't find a decent purple that was cost effective so I ended up making my own with some hot pink pearlized and deep purple. Mixing then two made really nice pearlized deep purple very close to the massive purple.

here's a quick look at whats done so far.

I also ended up removing the brake booster to get in behind and remove the rest of the insulation in behind. to really clean it up nice. Can't wait to see it all done.
there is going to be lots of clear coats going on as well to really make the color pop!
little jealous to be honest
lol all this work is because you asked how hard a wire tuck was. I has a simple wire tuck...until i seen how the honda guys were doing them...so a basic wire tuck just wasnt going to cut it! haha. definitely a lot of work. I applaud people who put the time and effort into it now. and as you can see on the side I still have a bunch of wires to sort through lol
i will trade you engine bays
your motor might light prettier in it anyways lol. I still have the brutal plain jane valve cover. gotta spruce it up a bit lol
