That's crazy, Nate. He's either loaded and sensible with his cars or he's in a 2-income household for sure. My truck's 430/mo and insurance is about $95/mo for everything.

Basically that is what Insurance is telling me now. The replacement value on my Jeep is $26800 according to Chrysler. So I asked my insurance adjuster how much am I getting back. He said call Chrysler financial and see what your buy out price is today so I call they tell me my buy out is $28,*** I was in shock I didn't even here the other numbers. WTF Where has my $625 Monthly payment plus my $5000 down payment gone? I called back my insurance adjuster (Belair Direct) and even though I fought with them that $26800 was to low for a replacement I knew it wasn't to far off. I asked him what happens If there $26800 doesn't cover the buy back he states well then Chrysler will call you and tell you that you still owe them $12** Can you believe that Sh!t.

Ohh and to boot I was told there would be no depreciation on my Jeep. So where did they get this $26800 Number from I’ll be calling back tomorrow morning when the girl that told me there would be no deprecation is back at work.

Fawk that sucks! When my last car got written off I got full value back. So after I paid the balance to Ford I was left with around $5000 (14 months of payments)
I love State Farm and will never leave them for that reason.

Hrm, they are probably relying on the lower MSRP when they're doing this.

Thing is, the replacement insurance that you get on a new car for two years from the date of purchase of the new vehicle gets you an exact replacement vehicle, what you paid for it, or the money representing what it will cost the ins. co. to replace it whichever is less.

See the scam? If you're too far "upside down" on the car (owe too much) when you crack it up and the cost of replacing it goes down, you're screwed <_<

Meh, my payments arent far off from that (and I aint loaded, granted I am in a 2 income household)), I just want it paid off as quickly as possible...I tend to keep my cars for longer than 5 years, so getting it paid off faster is nice for me, that money can go into mod money more quickly. Spend 6-8 grand on suspension/turbo/exhaust/tune, or knock off a year and more on the loan....no brainer to me! ;)

Or, instead of applying that payments towards mods, apply it to my mortgage, pay off a 200k mortage in 9 years instead of 25. :D
^^ that's what I did with a scooby. Money in hand and no more headache

My GF says Belair is one of the worst ones out there for over priced and un-satisfactory claims.
Those prices aren't all that bad. I have the 05.4 Focus at $29.889(with Taxes), $403 a month with a $9000 buy out. $0 down 0.3% Intrest. But the kicker is the insurance this year it'll be $650 a month in stead of them (StateFarm) killing me at $998 a month.
Good luck Drew, it's more effective if you see them in person too. That's only if they are a company that talks directly to the insureds in stead of a broker.

seriosly, where do you guys find these expensive cars/payments?
Good salesman. 0 down doesnt help.

I had a 7k buyout on my focus, which totalled over 8k after taxes and bs admin fees. Same car without turbo was selling for 5-6k in the trader at the time.

Never again.

 shud of just got an ST for that price  wow, thats insane... and i thought 330$ car payment and 150$ insurance was annoying haha
First of all, good thing you weren't in the vehicle.Second, see if spontaneous combustion is a TSB for Jeep. Third, talk to a lawyer. Maybe, if you're really pissed off, let the media know about your adventure.

I think thats what I might go with. As for the payments it was going to be a 2 year lease and then another 2 years to pay off the buy back, so 48 Months. I talked to my insurance agent again she said if there was a Gap they would cover it so we'll see if they keep there word. Best possibility is I basically break out of the lease a year early and get no cash in my hand.

Why do u say that Flow? I thought that was a good thing but now there not sticking with the same story.
Standard terms on insurance on leased vehicles is depreciation protection for the 1st year. So if you car is totaled in the 1st year, they're obligated to cover the full cost.

short story:

My Dad had a '69 GTO Judge that rolled a few times when a defective steering linkage went on it.

Took months for the crash investigators to release the cause behind the accident -- and he settled with the insurance company and in order to get a new car right away had to sign off on any further legal rights concerning the totaled car.

So 2 weeks after he settles all that and gets a new car (not a GTO), and gets the report back saying that it was the steering linkage and in fact, Pontiac was 100% liable in the crash.

and that's the story of how I grew up middle class instead of upper-middle class.
So are you telling me to go after Chrsyler? or my insurance I already mentioned the deprication value and tehy showed me this.
