hey guys
not sure if anywhere here has done a 5 bolt conversion or not but, how hard what it be to do? simple as making hubs? will any of the mazda stuff swap over?
You need to have a set of hubs re drilled and your brake rotors re drilled. Pretty easy, pick your bolt pattern. I suggest 5x100 as it has been done a couple times before. I know of one person doing 5x4.5 too.
Mazda stuff won't work as the splines for front are different and would require some sort of hybrid axles and I believe the rear is different enough to make it not worth while. There is a thread on the Mazda stuff on fj somewhere iirc
i was thinking on doing 5x114.3. little more common, no?
id try and fins that thread on FJ but i cant seem to remember my password lol
I've been waiting for a really long time for my machinist to get mine done.
If you wanted to go 5x114.3 the Mazda 3 rear will work but you would need a lot of parts, Mazda trailing arms, hubs, new e-brake cable set up, etc.
As Jamie said the front from the Mazda has a different spline count so the CV won't connect to hubs.
Your best bet is to just get a shop to re-drill your hubs and rotors.
5x100 will give you access to a lot of vw wheels among others. 5x 4.5 will get you Mazda and mustang wheels. Depends what wheels you want to get really. I would do 5x100 as it keeps the holes closer to the centre of the hub vs being more outboard to the edge
I found this on FJ for you sean. It's a 5X108 conversion pattern lol
