Bit of an update here. Got alot of progress on reassembly. All panels are on except the body mouldings. Still have to install mirrors and door pillars.
Started on the engine wiring also. Before i went too far on the engine reassembly i wanted to check my motor. When the car was on the road i broke 3 crank sensors. I thought it was a flywheel clutch issue. So i was just going to install the lsd into the broken tranny and drive it stock until i could build the motor , because to be honest i miss it. So today i seperated the motor and trans and sure enough the bottom end is shot.
Clutch shouldnt move around that much LOL! Missing a dowel and most bolts were rounded off. Pry bar on the crank pulley saw movement. Pry bar on the flywheel and saw movement.
Its a bit of a curse and a blessing. The build is going to get a bit more agressive with its parts. Seats are going up for sale and a cage is coming soon. There are big plans for the car but it wont be done this year. I wont be staying with the zetec so i have to get rid of alot of parts and start fresh. I always tell myself everything happens for a reason, so im excited for what the future holds.
Im just going to leave this here.
Finally updating the thread. Long overdue. Got the donor car pulled apart, every piece of wire is out, I only plan on using the ecu, bcm, dash harness, and engine harness. I have the rest just in case I need something else. Swap wont happen until next year, so I will just collect parts until then. I plan on going crazy with it. Return fuel system, aluminum rad with -16an hoses, no coolant tank, Chasebays power steering tank in a different location, hoping to keep up with the k24 guys. I'm always up for power but I need it to look good as well. Summer is over and I don't want to drop the 2.0 in, to then take it out for the 2.5. Since its down, it will stay down, sadly!
Bit behind on the updates, got a good bit of stuff done. Got my interior back together after the paint, all of this was before I realized the bottom end was shot, so it all has to come apart again to do the swap, but I concur LOL!
Onto the pics!
One of the nicest steering wheels I've seen, so comfortable. Still need the quick release, cant wait to use it!
Had to buy a set of taillights locally as the 3 sets I had all have some sort of defect. These are near perfect.
Sold my HKS exhaust, kind of miss it, a regular tip will suit the car better I think.
Threw in my SVT stereo surround and push button start. Some more interior pics.
Finished battery switch mount, needs to be repainted because it is too glossy. So it will be painted with the rest of the vents, and the gauge pod I made. Still have to make the one to replace the coin tray. Love the way the switch turned out though. So stealth with the key removed.
Got the OMP pedals in the car, love how stout they are. Hard to tell but I also painted the pedal arms gloss black.
More pics of the outside. Got excited and threw the headlights and euro grille on it, they came back off very quickly ahaha.
Some engine bay pics. Spent days re-doing the zetec harness, at least it was practice for what I will be doing with the duratec one LOL
Ziptied the tow hook to the grille to see how it looks, still need to fabricate a bracket for it, major loafting on my behalf.
Relocated the hood latch to the inner fender. The fuse box harness will be in here also.
And this is the reason the picture above only has 1 brake line in it. I will be running both rear lines to a T fitting and then into the proportioning valve, 1 line to the rear, then another T fitting in the rear. Just want to be able to add more/less rear brake if need be. Sorry for the potato picture. Only taped it in place to check clearance for mounting.

Pulled the motor out of the donor car in the driveway with no lift, I actually prefer doing it from underneath.
And that leaves me up until now. I want to repaint the firewall it didn't come out like I would have liked, I should have removed the subprime for the painter. Other than that I have been toying with the idea of undercoating the entire underneath of the car with rubberized undercoating. As I will have the front and rear suspension out of the car it seems like a good idea. I' bit OCD if you couldn't tell already

And that's it for now!
Plan is a 2.5 duratec with 13:1 compression, crane stage 5's, sheet metal intake, return fuel system, aluminum rad, coolant tank delete like the 08 duratec, oil cooler, power steering cooler, 3" exhaust. Bit more stuff im forgetting ahaha
