Just a quick announcement that the automatic e-mail validation for new users has now been disabled.

an admin is now required to manually register anyone joining the site.

This is being done to address the increased spambot presence on the site.

Job job sir!
I hope there is no more spam.

That should really help and just a heads up this is happening on like 3 other forums im on.

I wonder if it a hole in the board scripts that is being used, especially if it's happening on other boards.

likely... there's a new version of the board software available now to address spammers, so I may look into it or some other board software as I'm looking to swtich to a better hosting provider anyways...

I'd love to know how google is handling it from their end tho... since these are all gmail accounts.

i miss checking the site in the morning and reading up on who got banned overnite.
