Hey guys. I need to get some winter tires as the snow is falling as we speak here in Guelph. I have heard that stellies are not made for 205/50/16. So I was wondering if someone could tell me what my polt pattern is. I drive a 05 st! And can i put rims and tires on the car?
I used 15 steal rims with my 07 ST it will clear the brakes no problem. Its hard to find 205/50/16 snow tires plus they are expensive if you do.
For $500 yoy can get rims and tires in 15 inch.
Check out Yvonnes Tires in Guelph, Great prices!
I know there isnt any 15" steelies but they might be able to order you some in

4X108 I think the Center bore has to be 63 or 73, but good luck finding tires.
centre bore is 63.9mm
for 16" tires you can use 205/55R16 no problem and its easier to find and cheaper

Are you talking about 16" steelies ... if not, the 15" steelies IIRC are only 6" wide versus 6.5" for the alloys (even the 15" alloys) ... so I think 205 is a bit wide for that. As someone else pointed out, 15" rims will fit over the 05+ brakes.
I thought 15" wheels won't clear the front brakes?

I just put 205/55R16 on my car. Haven't had any snow yet though. These snows seem a little narrower than my regular 205/50R16,s

14" wheels won't clear the brakes, 15" ones will no problem.

195/60-15 = 205/50-16 in height, and are much easier to find.

I thought ST had the same caliper as the SVT? And they need 16" to clear?

Naa it's just taller because it's a 55% instead of a 50% of the width.
No the tread pattern is narrower, I know what the dif is between 50 and 55 is

different tire manufacturers will have some differences in sizes even though they say its the same size. Kind of like a reebok size 9 may be a little smaller (or bigger) than a nIke size 9. ;)
when i installed my winter tires and 15" steelies i noticed that there was only about 3-4 inches space between the top of the tire and the front springs/shocks (the black coily things). I thought those springs were well inside the wheel hub but they are actually hovering only a few inches above the tires!!? is this supposed to be like that?

I'm thinkin if i put in 17" tires next spring, it'll be awfully close to hitting the springs above it.
The tread will be the same but the edges might be more rounder giving it a smaller apperance. They measure from the first ply level
