So I recently found an iPod while walking down yonge street the other day.... I can't say I'm too interested in keeping it, as what i have is better (IMO) so I'm searching for it's owner.

I did a quick search on the owner's name and found a couple of matches that are close to the area... so messaged them and wll see if the internet will help reunite someone with their music.

10+ karma points for DP :)
are you trying to buy yourself ticket to haven?
Any dirty pictures on that iPod?
Also what kind of music is on it? It may give an insight as to what kind of person your dealing with.

no, but if someone up there wants to help me win the lottery, I wouldn't mind...

I haven't given it a listen (guess it was left on when I found it.. batteries be dead)... all I could do was pull the name off it and know it's a girl -- who apparently uses handcream (i hope that was handcream  )
Good on you for being an honest upstanding citizen.

A friend dropped her Blackberry at the Roxy in Vancouver Saturday night. I went outside and called the number and a guy answered. I could tell he was in the bar because of the music in the background. I said what had happened, he says back

"Well, if she wants it back it'll cost her a hundred bucks."

I told him I'd call him back. I heard a really loud chick in the background and could tell he was right by where our group was because of her, she'd been there all night.

I went back inside and called again and looked for a person answering a phone, one of the other guys I was with spotted him. I walked up behind him, tapped him on the shoulder and when he turned around I put my hand out. He just looked at me and handed me the phone.

I told him that next time he finds something he should be more considerate. We probably would have bought him a bunch of drinks for returning it.

haha too funny, maybe you should ask her if it was hand cream when you find her :)

No wonder you are trying to find the owner, bc its a girl :)

have you tried putting ads in the area you found it, maybe just say searching for .........name and tell to come online and find you. Don't mention what you have found. Also you can try going to (yonge and bloor) starbucks and ask if anyone came looking for an Ipod.
Bravo DP...

If you advertise that you found it just make sure you don't say what it is.
You could just say it's an mp3 player without saying what kind! Then the person has to guess make, model, color, engraving... etc...
Also, an iPod can only be synchronised with one pc at a time, unless you use Anapod, but thats another story, so it would be easy to tell if the person is the owner ;)

good luck in reserving your spot in the heavens :P
notice I haven't mentioned the type of iPod, the colour, or what songs are on it... I'll make sure it finds the right person.

I think I can also call in the serial number to apple and they'll try to reunite the ipod with the owner... will try that if I don't hear back from the people I've already messaged.
DP that's great. big props to you. i wish more people returned things that didn't belong to them instead of stealing it
Good karma begets good karma I believe...

Two weekends ago I was involved in helping raise $ for the Sick Kids Hospital at a charity auction (also blew my brains out during the auction) The following week I'd played my Super 7 numbers as usual and hit five numbers which netted me $100...

Moral of the story? Do good and good will come back to you eventually ;)

good stuff on returning the ipod to its rightfull owner. I do this all the time with cellphone and pda type devices.. i feel good about it too. Now if i ever find out who stole my videophone im gonna ring their ****'n neck, umm i mean i hope it gets returned to me.
If its a black i pod video it might be mine, my locker was broken into and it was the only thing stolen.

sorry, it isn't...

I haven't gotten any replies back from the people I messaged.. might just call it in to the apple customer service.
called apple support and reported the ipod. Hopefully the person has the serial number written down somewhere if they want it back...
Looks like we have a winner... I've been contacted by the person who apple contacted.

Someone will be getting their ipod back this week..

remember people, make sure your iPod is registered to a valid e-mail address and make sure you keep a copy of the pod's serno...
so what kind of i pod was it? i bet it was a pink nano and thats you didn't want to keep it but anyways congrats on ur good deed
it was a silver shuffle with a mix of music ranging from Cindy Lauper to Billy Talent to Japanese and Korean... most interesting mix I've ever stumbled upon.

The owner will be getting their ipod in the mail soon.
what? they can't come and pick it up themselves and say thank you?
