Long time since I'v seen a number over 450 for fuel milage. With gas prices the way they are I was happy to see that. I wasn't even on the red line yet.

I've found by going 10 kms/hr slower, I've gotten 20 to 30 kms per tank more. Usually I'm around 520 kms. I've done an oil change, have to do an air filter clean, and looking at plugs and wires to see what happens. I still think throw a turbo or a supercharger, tuned the right way, would save some gas. ( at least that's what I tell the "Family Banker" )
I guess I luck out, all my driving is back roads so I do 100kph. I get from 620-670 to a tank.

You don't count, because you've got a new car...........just kidding. Maybe a new Focus is sooner than I thought

I guess they re-worked the ECU for better MPG,I even got that tax credit for low fuel consumtion. :D
I guess I have a heavy foot. I only get between 420 to 450KM's per tank. But I mostly sit in traffic on the DVP every morning and afternoon.
I get the same as Focus man, Focus, 420-450 a tank, but I do a lot of 407 and as we all know the speed limit on the 407 is effectively anywhere between 145 and 149 :D
The last stint I took the ZX5 on was 317KMs to half an indicated tank. An "empty" tank at light on was 42L to fill it again. So, not too far behind that with a 2.5" flex-back exhaust.
well I'm doing all city driving lately, and I'm still getting just under 500. a tank of gas lasts me two weeks if I'm not venturing out of brampton for things
all city driving ill get about 450 to the tank, 475 if i keep my foot out of it the entire time, but thats really hard lol.

as for highway mileage it'll go up to around 750-800kms....
wow, on my drive back from Milwaukee, I got just over 500 miles to the tank. I know its all highway driving but still for a 5 year old car, not bad. That 6th gear is a nice touch too.

If I drive for best milage with my 5sp wagon I can average 6.5L/100k in a mix of city/highway driving. I usually never let the tank go past half cuz you get slightly better mileage. For half a tank I can get about 360-385k. I shift every gear at 1500 rpm, use cruise control and play the light. Also never go past 90k on the highway. People want to kill me on the 410 LOL

With my 1995 ford escort 1.9l 5spd I could get 5.2L/100k with 240,000k on it

Ahh so your to blame for all the Rush hour grid lock then eh?
i get about 400-420 city and 450-480 highway
I'm at 535km right now. Light should be soon. I suspect 38mpg in my ST.
After 25000 km I am getting 580 km on 42 litres in mixed driving. I could get better if I took it easier on the starts. Going over 105 kph drops the mileage significantly.

Isn't it actually 43.7 mpg?
I guess it all depends if your using the imperial gallon or the US gallon.
1 US gallon = 3.79 litres
1 Imp. gallon = 4.55 litres

So, 100km / 1.6km = 62.5 miles
6.5 litres/4.55 = 1.43 gallons
62.5/1.43 = 43.70 mpg (Imperial)

and 6.5/3.79 = 1.71
so... 62.5/1.71 = 36.44 mpg (US)

I've always used Imperial calculations.
My last gas up showed me 38.7 mpg :)
i didnt realize there was a difference between imperial and US gallon. i always thought it was 1qt=1L and 4qt=4L=1gallon now i know!

random note... when i was car shopping i did quick math and it appears that if gas stays at $4.44/gallon and a person drives 15,000 miles per year the difference in fuel cost between a car that does 36mpg and a car that does 30mpg is around $370

sometimes i feel like i would rather pay $370 more per year and drive with the flow of traffic rather than drive 55-65mph and get stressed from people riding up my a$$ on the highway
