According to Autoweek.com, Ford made a $100 million in profit for the 1st Quarter of 2008, on income of 43.5 billion. North America had a pre-tax loss of only $45 million.

Looks like Ford's plan is finally working in this half of the world. Let's see if the other N.A. automakers can follow suit, only time will tell.
