I've been reading and following alot of ppl all over the world and come up with between 20-40 hp at the wheels extra. Toque no one really gave good numbers on it.
Optimistic numbers I'm afraid.. As mentioned earlier, sure you'll get some extra air in there but your 2.0L will create a bottleneck :(

Optimistic yes, But I have bee reding about this thing for 4 years now. I've been following a lot of installs and dyno tune from all over the world, Jap, england, USA. From cars that have the engine in them from stock and once that are made from tubular frams with the Duratec mounted sideays. I should see some good numbers.

Also, I might be adding a custom 80mm TB. We'll see.
to get anywhere near 40whp you'd have to do a lot more work than just changing the intake mani. as for 20, might be attainable but you'd also need at least a P&P on the stock head.

ya very optimistic john, i have seen some stuff floating around fj, Egz made 201 whp on his 2.3l hatch. not only did he have a cosworth IM, he has cams, fully built motor 12.1 CR piston, worked head on it and fully custom tune. so if say i put this on my car. realisitcally from the last dyno i was 139 whp. so your telling me JUST from this i will see 160-180 whp when a completely worked 2.3l only made 201?

ya not happening. also i wouldnt bother with that throttle body. would be pointless as the 67mm cossie TB is made to match the IM, therefore you would have 13mm of useless bore. do you have any idea how much you will bog??? mustangs dont usually go that big man and the SVT only really went to a 70mm.

i really want to see where you are reading this from because in all honesty, a IM will not give you even 10hp on a N/A engine that just has intake and exhaust work. to see these gains, your looking at FRPP head, stage 2-3 cams and high compression pistons with valve relief. at that point you would be comming up on the 180-190 whp mark.

sorry to i guess ruin it for you but realistically how can a IM give you 15-30% gain? unless you are turbo maybe... not without a snail im afraid
I totally understand what you guys are say.
The TB was a iffy thing. I'd need a flange to allow for that extra airway and to slop it to the 67mm opening. It was cheap lets just say that lol
The IM I said 20-40 right. I'm looking on the 20 side. Ya a port n polish is needed but no one is really done it around here.

March 1st I have a tune booked at Dasilva, then I'll post as soon as I get home.

This is a good place to look at the Euro ppl modding the 2.0L
And one of the best places to look is this forum
http://passionford.com/forum/general-discu...tec-tuning.html

I read,
someone with a 2.0L Fiesta ST installed a Cossy IM, had custom Tune, stock head and stock bottom end.
He ran 183 BHP on a stick.
So I'm hoping for 20hp more and I'll be happy
I don't know man, those are European models.. Could be differences. I think you'll have trouble making 10WHP with the 2.0L head. I also agree about the TB, 80mm is wayyyyy too big.
you do realize that BHP does not mean at the wheels correct? 183 BHP is roughly 150 WHP. stock SVT's with an intake make like 145ish and thats 170 BHP stock plus intake which is like 7-10.

plus not to mention that the european duratecs you are looking at are not the same engine. being as they are in a europe, they will start off with slightly higher compression rations as the lowest gas they offer is like 93 octane over there. look that the intakes and throttle bodies on those cars. can you say drive by wire, long with the fact that it has a map sensor? completely different set up.

if it was that easy to bolt on 20 hp then why has nobody done it for 700$?
Good point Jamie, if the Cossie IM gave me 20WHP I'd be all over it.. It's just not worth it unless you have a bigger head and or turbo. Even with a bigger head, you need a fully built NA motor to really get the benefits out of the IM.
exactly.

also i was just reading some of those forum sites you got the information from. everything over there is BHP, the motors are vastly different, looks wise they may look the same as they will be the same basic design as it is a world motor. but chrysler has a world motor featured in Evo x, SRT, genesis and is different in every scenario as they all have been changed here and there to make more power, get different economy etc...

at the end of the day if i could of made 20-40 whp on 700$ i would have done so a long time ago. thats why im buying my NOS sniper kit. 75 hp whenever i feel like it which wont be often at the track.

wouldn't dasilva have a hookup for a P&P place? i would've thought they'd do it themselves.
Yes I know about BHP, and all the numbers they are running.
Just relax guys. Let me test this one out and see what happens
all im saying is dont hold your breath for power numbers. odds are your looking at 5 hp with IM and another 3-4 with the full tune done

also let me know how much you spend on tuning, i need a tune this year
You are doing the right thing John. You get everything sorted on your own and then then you can put everyone in their place. LOL. If anything your going to have one sick looking engine bay.
