Hey, the original KITT had to suffer that godawful "Super Pursuit Mode" BS in the last season of the original series...
THAT was ugly
Yeah, that mountain pass scene was ridculous, I mean hell they even shoved a Volvo on that road! (But no Jag....)
As to why the Edge kept up
-shh- that's the project meford & the others are working on down at the OAC, a twin turboed Edge

i thought kitt looked way cool. but double spoiler was all the way ghey.
anyone else notice that the entire ford product line was on the mountain/curvy spot? I about puked. looked like the auto show (if you haven't gone, its REALLY good, btw.. ford interceptor will make your pants tight).
and how did the edge manage to keep up with not only a mustang, but a shelby mustang? that was pretty sad.

I also noticed the entire ford line up on the mountain. I was like yaa this show isn't sponsored by Ford and then i was reminded during the comercials, So was this a pilot or just a made for tv movie?
PVR'd this on the saturday re-run..
Gotta admit, the acting and characters are actually worse than the 80's version...
Seriously, it's like they had 2 options for the introduction of Mike and the FBI chick.
one sensible one (like showing how they're connected to the scientist/daughter) and one totally corny, tits n' ass alternate. I've never seen a show try so hard to create characters you don't care about.
But then again, maybe they did it to make KITT seem that much more feasible...

One thing i didn't like was there was no Turbo Boost, ski mode, oil slick or seat eject in the old episodes they use to have at least one turbo boost jump.

ah.. that pic illustrates it all -- there's no turbo boost because the new KITT doesn't have headrests.
uh oh... NBC updated the look of KITT ...
looks like they're looking to jump the shark in the first season!
I think the NBC prop department decided to empty their closets .....
....and stick it all to the exterior of the car.
When is it back again?
This month, right?
EDIT
Found this:
Online Premiere WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 17th!
Series Premiere WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 24 8/7c
online premier will we have to pay for that? what web site is it on
"Now with 50% more APC content!"
No confirmation on the fact that the prop guys restock from the local Pep Boys shops... :|

Y'know, I know I'm not a spring chicken anymore but when I commented to other friends that it looked like they'd dropped that poor Mustang in a vat of "Rice a Roni" for this new "Super Pursuit Mode" the reply I got back was:
"
You aren't the target audience for the show"
Ai yi yi... if that's what turns on the kids these days :thumbsdownsmileyanim:
AS for checking it out online on Sept 17, don't count on it unless you can mask your IP address as NBC's website blocks out non US addresses from viewing video content (and the Canadian rights holder is Global TV :puke: )

You guys are actually excited about this crap?
Have a look on Garage 419 for Matt Fera's take on the show

So are the rest of you by the way; have you ever listened to yourselves? Go back and read through this thread if you don't believe me.

Hey, I dig a show with a good gimmick and a talking, nearly indestructible car that drives itself is a good gimmick (
Esp. if the car has good scriptwriters to give it some memorable zingers)
I'll just be PVR'ing the west coast feed to watch later since Global TV will absolutely butcher the sound / PQ of the local feed with their simsubbing <_<
