Saw this item on ebay item #120161370020 listed as a replacement for the auto shift knob on the Focus. Anyone ever tackled a job like this? I'm looking at it with the silver insert to go with my cars interior (and the I could actually hit the o/d button on the shifter without guessing too <_<) Here's a link to the auction (I hope)

No idea if it will fit correctly or how the wires would hook up but it does look pretty good , but 100+ bucks for a shifter knob is kinda high .
i had that one long time ago..
but that ebay thing looks like a copy version of obx tomcat..
and can't be that expensive..

That's the reason I always resisted an ATX shift knob, no one seems to care about the placement of the O/D selector button. Some relocate it to the centre tunnel in a custom-cut mount area (like the TCS and heated seats buttons).
umm no one??
that shift knob has od button
i converted manual shift knob to use on auto shift and used momentary toggle switch to control od..

I tried that on my last car but i was foiled by the Over Drive button.
Nice looking but awfully friggen expensive once you calculate shipping into it. They want $55 USD for US Post Office, or $24 for UPS - but as you know UPS will turn around and charge you $25 for the brokerage fee.
I'm not sure how simple the install will be either ... according to my Ford DVD you have to take out the console to access the O/D switch connector before you can remove the knob. To remove the knob itself is basically one small screw on the left side which, again according to the DVD, must be replaced.
If you decide to go ahead with it, let me know and I might be able to help out with some of the logistics like before.
Cheers Daniel.
