I seriously want to get rid of this Hunk of Junk.
I've been having trouble with it since the first day I bought it.
When I bought this car from the dealer on august 25th 2006 (7,995 $ + Tax)
I was hearing a Light rattle at the front of the car. I went at the dealer and gave him a test drive ...he said "Ohh I don't hear anything ...the gears go in fine I don't see what your talking about..." Soooo...After the 3rd months has passed...the noise became Louder .... When the Noise Happens is When i'm at a stop sign ... I Put it in 2nd Gear...and let go of the clutch I does this noise " CLACK " then when I give gas and starting to moving foward It starts Rattling Sort of Loud (embarassing) <_< ... because i'm in Low RPM ... Why ?? Is it my differential thats loose or something ?

And one Last thingy .... NOOOOW .... When I turn my car On ..It's like the engine misses a bit when it starts.. Its Rough for a fraction on a second before it idles normal (Before the Vrooom part).... I maybe explaining myself wrongly... i'm french and I don't know the exact words ... :( sorry

Thank you If you can Help me
No you explain it as well as I would. My car has had the rattle sence I got it. Only does it at idle and a little when I first start it.
Cant seem to track it down myself and ford cant either. As it does not seem to affect the performance of the car im not gonna spend more cash lookin at it.

BUT this decsion was only made after a 150$ payout on for to have Ford investigate.

As for the miss fire keep it simple.
How many K's on the car. Have you done a tune up at all. Plugs, Wires, air filter, coil pack, FUEL FILTER.

Just advice thats all :)
The rattle is most likely the front heat shield for the exhaust. Rip it off. It won't hurt anything.

And the rough idle could be the fact the MAF needs a clean.
Spray some carb cleaner into it after you disclocate it from the air flter. The car will run a little rough at first and then it will clear up.
It could be other things, but this is a cheap and easy place to start.
And if anyone knows "cheap and easy" it would be MeFord.

In my case its not heat sheilding. The strap on my CAT is all rotted and it rattles. But its more when I and Goin to go.

i have the exact same issue right now i hate the rattle, i have not heat shield aftermarket custom exhaust that isnt causing rattle...i believe my issue is lack of fuel because when i go from high rpms to a stop sign at like 700 is begins to shake, rattle and giver the beginning signs of a stall, im replacing my fuel fiter this week, ill let u kno if its cured, i also drive mtx '03 as well

Carb cleaner or intake medic?
I doubt it would matter but Intake medic is sensor safe... Carb cleaner isnt I dont beleive.
