Much difference between 205/50 and 205/55 ? reason I ask this is my sister has some pirelli winters that she aint using and was thinking of trying to buy them but will it harm the fofo that there bigger than recomended ...
I don't think it would be an issue, because it's going on the correct rim, but you should check for rubbing if you can try one before you commit to buying it.
It dont appear to be a problem , without a drop theres about 5inch gap lol skyjacker lift kit and there seems to be a bit of space width wise as well just wondering if anyone learned from experience.
I have them on my wife's 04 ZTW - no issues, no problems, no big difference but in fact, because they are a more popular size they are usually a bit less expensive than the smaller 205-50-16s.

The difference compared to stock:

1) the ride is a bit softer
2) they do fill out the wheel wells a bit better
3) larger circumference - 77.3" vs. 75.6" for stock
4) fewer tire RPM per km - 509 vs. 521 for stock
5) speedo registers a bit slow - indicated 100 kph = roughly 103
6) your odo will be off by the same amount - roughly 3.3%

YEP, what Ken said :)

I had them on the wife's ZTS as well. The car was NOT lowered and the ride felt a little bit softer, which she liked

one winter i used 195/65/15 instead of 195/60/15 winter tires, which is the same thing you are doing.. i didn't notice any difference, so i think you should be fine..
Why are we talking about winter tires? Its July!!!!!
lol winters coming my friend lol , need to buy tires next month , can get these cheap most likely and was gonna buy some rims with summer tires this fall but wont be able to use them .

I use 205/55/16 all the time no issues yet! Actually i like the ride quality even more then on 205/50/16. The "fender gap" also decreases giving the car a better look.
i have 205/55R16 winter tires on stock 16 rims and with a 2.5"drop have NO problems at all.
me too ^^^^^
The SVT Manual Actually suggests 205/55/16 for the winter tires. I have them and no probs.
