Damn my lead foot and 401 speeders for breaking my "flow" :P
So, who's in London? :D
That's on "indicated" levels, which really works out to 10L increments. So 490KMs on 30L of gas... not bad. 6.12L/100KMs highway if that's correct.
wow Nos, that must be a welcome site to you. if you keep track of your CAFE online you could find out how much your spending and how many liters of gas you use between fill ups.
that's awesome man. i don't have a chance at those numbers in my wagon.. then when i have a corolla as a rental car it only gets 27mph on the highway, so maybe its my fault not the car's
Yeah it's almost exactly 330KMs to my parents' door from the Esso near our place in North Bay... so I could technically drive there and back (all things being equal) and not trip the reserve light :P
So seriously, anyone around out this way? We'll be heading back through to the 400 on Monday afternoon.
Ok I have an 07 St and I only get 500km to a tank, I dont drive it hard and I do 80% highway driving, why is it so low?????????? any fuel saving tips!!!

Question, how many KM do you have on the car? I found the economy was the pits until around 25K or so on mine.... what hurts my numbers is the city driving :(
NefCanuck
I think i got 554 km on a tank , gonna figure out the mileage later on ...
thats pretty good NOS, I can get about the same. 330KM to Saskatoon and I use a little less than 1/2 a tank.
Sorry boys, been out hanging out with the wife and her friend.
Nef, I've got just under 11,000 on the car and I'll break almost 11,500 on the way home if not a tad more. It was about 510KMs from our Esso to her door.
Fuel saving tips? Cruise control as much as possible on open highway, a higher cruise is still more effiicient than yo-yo driving (80-130-90-120, etc) and my personal jury's still out over what's less drag-inducing, open windows over no-AC ventilation.
On a side note, how's this for Dura-noobish? I kept noticing a loud "tick" every 30-45 seconds or more when driving around town with the HVAC on (no AC, just outside venting in). I'd lose a tad bit of power and then regain it.... I finally realized it was the AC compressor kicking in after popping the hood and observing it for a few minutes in my driveway! :D
FocusGuy, that's damn impressive mileage for the SVT! Do you have it retuned with a SCT or Predator?
Canadian ST, how much mileage on your 2.3L? Anything under 7-8000 in my experience and your economy will be quite a bit less than expected. Mind you, those are 2.0L stats, but still...
This is my best tank yet... I was at 400km at half tank (all highway) Then the rest was city/town driving. I think if you went 90km/h and all highway you could break 700 a tank. BTW when i fill from the light being tripped its about 46 litres
The only way to get this mileage is to drive 100km/h or less. This for me was never over 100km/h Yes its hard to drive 100 for me... lol this car loves to do 160 no problem.
I like your gauge setup beter then mine.
Once it's broken in (20+k) the 2.3L will get 600-620k on a tank F to E on the highway if you keep it under 115kmh. Same thing, cruise on, etc.
BTW Nos, the A/C cycles on all modes; that's the way Ford set it up to keep the A/C from seizing up -- I was surprised too -- when I first noticed it I pulled the clutch fuse until I could get it checked at the dealer. They said it's normal, because they've found in warmer climes that people don't use their defroster during the winter, and by the time they need the A/C it's too late.
I'm pretty sure you can change that with an xCal though.
just keep an eye on your mileage , one guy at ford dealership had one mileage went completely down hill because it was always kicking in , they had to reflash the ecu or something.
oh and it was 33.3 mpg , with some pretty hard driving , was cruising along with 4 or 5 cars and when I looked down I was doing like 170 km lol time to slow down . dont even notice how fast your goin.

I know what you mean,,, its easy to go from here to halifax (170km) and do 160avg and never see a cop tee hee. No wonder i burn so much fuel.

Meh i need a tach... hate not having a tach. Thx tho... :]
yeah i have it retuned with an Xcal2
I really flogged it going home yesterday (not saying how fast, either) and still got 440 to 3/4 tank. Pulled into my driveway at 510KMs with 1/8 indicated left.
Man I love these cars!
Sparky - thanks man, it's good to know I wasn't the only one! As for it cycling continuously... it seems to when any HVAC is on at all, but it also seems to be in 1 minute intervals. I'll mention it at the dealer the next time I'm in for something and I'll see what they say. It's not horribly sapping the power, so I'm not too concerned.
I can usually get around 550+ km's to a tank on the highway in the stang (4.6L 3V V8 and 5spd), and that's doing an average of about 20k over the speed limit the entire drive. I usually find I'm using the GO pedal a lot more around the GTA though...lol
i have a 2007 focus, just bought it 2 months ago and have 6000 km on it.
i have had to take it to dealer 3 times to get tires balanced . still has a bit of nibble in steering wheel between 100 and 120 km. dealer said they could do nothing else for me (my tires are in spec).
is this normal for a focus ? does anybody else have this problem ?
P205/50R16 Pirelli tires.
