Transport Canada issues latest recalls
June 19, 2007
Ottawa, Ontario - Transport Canada has issued its latest recalls, which may affect some Chrysler and Dodge vehicles.
2007-2008 Chrysler Sebring
2008 Dodge Avenger
Vehicles affected: 40
On certain vehicles, the front seat track position sensors used for the airbag system may not function properly. Sensor information is used to lessen inflation pressure for smaller-stature occupants; failure of the sensors causes the airbag to deploy to full inflation, which could increase the risk of injury. Dealers will inspect the sensors and, if necessary, replace them.
2007 Dodge Ram
Vehicles affected: 2,150
Certain Ram 1500 pickup trucks equipped with a 34-gallon (129-litre) fuel tank fail to comply with requirements for fuel system integrity. The tank may become damaged during crash conditions, which could allow fuel leakage if the vehicle rolls over. Dealers will install a fuel tank shield onto the front frame crossmember.
