supposedly they have great grip, stiff sidewalls and aren't noisy.. i'm about the get another set of azenis sport.. but if these really aren't noisy.. i'll give em a shot..

and also, while i very much value tire related comments not related to the road noise of re-01r tires.. (such as.. why don't you think about tire X Y or Z) i just wanted to go on the record and say that

a) i can't afford to run full on r comps on the street on my daily driver (toyo ra-1 fall in that same boat.. i can't afford to keep buying em)
b ) i am not going to purchase the kumho mx tire b/c apparently its sidewalls are not as stiff as the falkens or the re-01r
c) other summer tires don't offer the grip levels i prefer

d) i will not purchase an all season tire

I am not liking my kumho Mx tires, they seem to wear a little too much and not the best in the wet weather.
