I tried to restore my stock headlights to their original clarity, using a product from the local parts store. Now, the headlights look worse! Am wondering if Megauirs Plast-x would work, or do I need new headlights? Help!
I use Meguiars Plastic-X and believe it, it's more of a maintenance item than a restoration product. I know Performance Improvements has a product they continuously advertise to restore headlight clarity, i'd check them out.
You need to use all 3 steps of the Novus system, or use something like Meguiars Plastx a LOT to get them to come up nice again. If you Put in some good time, and elbow grease with either product, you should get results more like what you want.

I sell the Plastix all the time and no one ever complained.

And how much of my money would be needed for the Plast-X?
About $15 at CDN Tire...

Use a terry cloth towel when doing it, it will cause the 'diminishing abrasives' to bite harder and take out the scratches quicker, as opposed to microfiber. And use multiple applications of it too. Once done with the Plast-X, use a wax or sealer on it to keep it clean longer. Any paste or liquid wax will do.

I used that stuff and brought my old Escort's head lights back to like new from yellow and crappy. The Focus will get the treatment shortly. It's also handy or your foglights on the Focus, or on helmet visors, etc.

I tried Mothers Plastic Polish on my headlights and did not notice a difference. I was very disappointment (first time with a mothers product). I can feel the scratchs with my finger. I even tried 3-4 applications. Not sure if Past-X will be any different...
bought the Plast-X. Used half a bottle, the scratches are still there, but, 100% better than before. The lights look new, from 10 feet away.I will keep up on the lenses, using the rest of the bottle, and a terry cloth rag for a bit. Later i am gong to use the Novus system.

Thanks to all for the advice, gentlemen.
