so im looking for some suspesion set up and found this used one,
not sure if its the best since the milege is a big high on it
Springs are Apex and have been on the car for 2.5 years (approx 25,000 km)
Shocks/struts are Eibach Pro Dumpers and have been on the car for 1.5 years (approx 12,000km)
The springs drop it around 1.5in in the front and 1.8 in the rear
Is that milege high for shocks and springs?
What should i be asking for this set up in CAD $?
Thanks
12,000 in 1.5 years is only 8,000 per year - compared to a Canadian average of 20,000 ... and 25,000 in 2.5 years is only 10,000 ... seems a little light to me ... I'd be a little suspicious about the numbers unless there's some sort of proof about it.
In any event, I wouldn't pay more than 20-25% of the cost of new ones.

Can you see them before buying ? Pics something ? Car looks clean though.
I'd start at half of what you can get it new and work your way , go up or down to depend on how the parts are and how bad you want them . It's pretty low , you may need some camber plates.
well the guy is planning to take the whole thing off this wendsday....and he said he can send me the pics....he's from Toronto....
but what should like this cost? $200-250?
Without having seen the parts I'd say $300.00 will be the max if you don't have any shipping to pay.Why is he selling the kit ?
no, no shipping,,,its only like an hour drive from me.....im not sure why he's selling it....
but even in person how can i identify if anything is wrong with the pieces?

hard to say in person if it's still on the car.
but yeah $300 seems rather fair.
You can look if there is any oil comming out of the shock ( struts ) and for the springs there's not much to do then visual inspection.

Aren't those gas shocks? Nik, maybe you should go and see this guy before he takes them off the car first, go for a little drive and see how they handle? If he is from Toronto, then roads are s*** here so just take it for a spin if possible
Will the hatch parts fit on a sedan?
Go and look at them once they're off the car.

Yes. I have everything SVTF hatch suspension related at all four corners of my sedan. All hatch suspension combinations kits work with the sedan, complete drop in.

You know that all gaz shock has oil don't you ? The nitrogen is replacing regular ambian air , it's more efficient. :)
I bought those team dynamic rims from this guy, he is a nice guy to deal with . Yes, check everything b4 you get them and make sure there are no rust on the springs.

ohhh, i actually didnt know that, so does this mean if it leaks you will be able to tell? i guess yes. i always thought it was just gas in there and nothing else.
cool, thanks :)
The milage isn't that low.. that's about what I put on my car with regular driving. Not everyone has a 400km daily commute ;).
I have a complete Apex kit with about 125,000km on it. No complaints. Paid $500 new ( i think).
I would be more concerned with the shocks/struts than springs, if they're shot you could always just use your stockers.
ok
here's another options.....me buying only maybe springs from him and go with KYB struts/shocks
i found some on ebay
