when im gonna be changing my winter set back to summer rims
im planning to paint my calipers and rear drums
now my car is liqued gray, so not every color out there is gonna go with it to match
another thing...what are good brake paints out there? i went to CT the other day and found one brand the one on the pic of the cans
black and silver were my primary picks from colors....not so sure about the one on the far right
just let me know what color you think i should paint them
and should i get brake cleaner before i start to paint?
*hints please
thanks
Painted calipers make Baby Jesus cry.
Rice it up!
Go with black.
no!
nothing ricie
i want it to look stealthy and blend with the car
that means (no red,blue,yellow, ect)
here's the closes i can show how my rear drums look like with the rims on
I ususally do the following each year when I put the summer rubber. I didn't last year because I just don;t care about the car anymore.
Take a good wire brush and scrape all the rust off, best you can.
Blow off all the rust dust and chunks off with an air hose.
Prime and paint the drums black with either caliper paint or BBQ paint (it's the same s*** and is way cheaper)
Let sry and repeat coats of black.
this is prob a stupid quastion...but what kind of prime?
Black will look very good.
Definately black, did mine in black, looks better than rust.
Just use the high heat enamel paint for BBQ's or fireplaces and you won't need a primer.
So i guess u just told me what color i should paint my calipers to then
i guess black BBQ paint it is then...
Ya definately go with black.
Aside from black, has anyone tried a colour like silver? Black would just look bad on my Focus with the red paintjob...

Use this stuff-sticks to your rusty parts like grim death on a Kamikaze
POR 15
And go basic black.
POR 15 is awsome!!! buy the kit and rust proof a bunch of stuf and never touch it again! it's a stupid hard surface and is resistant to heat and will protect anything,,,
that sounds good as well...where can i pick it up?
I used that duplicolour wheel laquer, it worked ok, the rust still comes through if the calipers already rusted.. That POR-15 looks like some good stuff tho I may try that when I repaint mine.
I painted my drums black and the calipers sliver
