one big reason is all the chrome on the Edge, and I absolutely hate chrome. by the time you add up all the option for each and add taxes your looking a vehicle that cost close to $50k. The CX-7 is that more sporty than the Edge, and they pretty much are the same vehicle, except one has a turbo 4 and the other a large V6.

I hear ya. I've seen some Edge's with the front grill painted the same colour as the vehicle and they looked good plus lowered. Still waiting to see a Lincoln MKX de-chromed.

Uh....some of us here actually work for Ford, and ZTW has close ties to the company.

And Ford ships a high pecentage of Edges by rail. Straight from the plant. Considering you could probably fit 6-8 Edges on a truck, that would be a truck every 6-7 minutes. The QEW would be jammed if we shipped them all by truck.

okay. I never said that they weren't shipped by rail, but they are shipped by truck. Loads of 8 or 9, depending on the type of truck. I've been to one of the yards they get shipped to over in MI....

Not that it's a big deal, but you're really missing the point ... your post in response to mine started with "huh?" suggesting you didn't agree, which in turn prompted sparky's post.

The point being this: think of the geography of the U.S. and think where the biggest car markets are there (ie: CA) ... and although some U.S. bound Edge will naturally go by truck, the majority go by rail (which is what I said) ... and so on that basis I suggested that the rail strike should have received more than a passing last-paragraph mention in an article about Edge being slow to arrive at U.S. dealerships.

If you're questioning my assessment about the article - fine, but if you're suggesting that the majority of Edge bound for the U.S. don't go by rail - well, you're wrong.
See that there's a Black Edge at the local Ford Store where I bought my car from...I might go and check it out in person when I get my truck back from the shop this week (work almost done, but they got sent the wrong carb for the engine, thus delaying the job like another 2 days)...
I saw an MKX the other night.. that rear light bar is quite Tron .. it actually looks cool at night.

but it really needs to be blacked out for daytime driving.
yes, I'd imagine that units destined for say, cali, would be rail shipped. But if it was such a HUGE problem, they could truck them. It would just take slightly longer...
People seem to really hate the triple bar chrome grilles that Ford is using on their cars and trucks lately...to me, I think it grows on you after a while, and not only that, they obviously did their job, as you don't mistake their vehicles for anyone elses because of that grille...I think it looks better than the grille Nissan had with the stupid grey blob/block in the middle of a mesh grille...

Also, the black chrome offered on the Fusion Sports Appearance Package looks awesome...hope they offer that scheme as an option on all the vehicles with that grille...
