I wonder people learn this stuff. Personally not something i'd ever use day to day, but in a pinch its an interesting way to multiplication.

How about just learning to spell. Same goes for math. Learn to add, subtract, divide and multiply in your head. Half the world would be walking around eyes glazed over and drooling without calculators.
