I want to swap out my stock CD changer for the newer style 6cd MP3 player/changer.
Obviously I am not expecting to be a direct swap.
How much modification is required? Is it the same footprint size as the 2002 cd changer?
Anyone good with stereos?

Here's some shots I just took of my 05 stereo, assuming the mounting points are the same, you should be golden.

the first problem you will face is that 00-04 focus has a 1.8 din slot
and 05+ has a full 2 din slot.
also im pretty sure the mounting points dont match either
but if u want to try i have an 05 6cd changer/mp3 player from an audiophile package lying around

why don't you just go with the 03 Mp3 player instead. Its direct fit and you just have to modify the harness or just buy a premade harness for 40$. And the Mp3 players shouldnt cost you more then 200. Benefits would be everything would look stock.

yeah just go for the 03 mp3 player instead, its 1.8 din which is what the focus uses
