Can anyone suggest which mod i should do first: udp or 65mm tb?

And please recommend brand names and where I should purchase them.

Thanks guys.
udp

port your stock tb yourself.
so what exacly is the difference between the UDP kits out there?

for example:

FC 2 piece underdrive pulley kit
and the FS crank underdrive pulley kit

any advantages of one over the other or are they pretty much all the same?

- The 2 piece kit allows you to use your stock belt
- The crank only kit will need a shorter belt
- Stay away from the AEM pulley. It does nothing, as its only an alternator pulley
I'd recommend a UDP (set) over a TB, based on what I've felt from driving Oscar's car (TB, intake, exhaust) and from driving mine (UDP, intake, exhaust).

Aside from the fact his has 17" wheels and mine has 16" wheels, they're mechanically identical as far as the powertrain goes.

Now, I'm in a slightly different position than you will be as I have the SPI with http://www.escortfocus.com's 50% reduction "race" UDP. AFAIK, no Zetec UDP(s) come close to that amount of reduction - they're all 25% kits I believe.

Still, a 25% UDP setup should free up about 4-6WHP back to the driveline.

It raises the optimum operating RPMs for your accessories somewhat - alternator, power steering and A/C if you have it. Still, it makes the engine feel more "willing" to rev because it is - less parasitic loss due to accessories is a good thing. You also may recover a bit of gas mileage, which never hurts either. :)

A new TB may not make that much of a difference power-wise, but it may help throttle tip-in and overall engine responsiveness. Just don't expect a big increase in power from the wider diameter of the butterfly - chances are you're not going to shovel much more air down the stock intake manifold anyways.

Good luck!
ok thanks....i'll go with FC 2 piece pulley kit.
crap...nobody seems to have any other colors other than black left. Do u know who has them in blue?
i think http://www.newedgeperformace.com might have them in blue
yeah they don't have it.....they said the blue is long gone (has been for awhile) and only color they make them in now is in black (blue, silver, etc are discontinued).

well, as long as it's exactly the same thing...color won't really matter since its underhood and u wont see it, and its performance/efficiency improvements that matter most.

I had blue ones and the only person that could appreciate the colour was the mechanic when changing the oil. It is pretty difficult to see from above.
lol yea i have a black one.....can't tell diff at all :D
