How much HP do you gain with an underdrive pulley on a stock engine?
3-5 HP?

Are they easy to install?

Got an AEM one yesterday for a good deal.

Mine was easy to install after I got the damn bolt off.

The engine reved faster, more response but I dont think it added any top end power.
I don't know about "real" numbers, but my 50% crank UDP definitely added a lot more responsiveness to the SPI, cleaned up the midrange doldrums and got me back on the high side of 40 MPG on the highway.

^^^Ditto. Found the exact same results; very rev happy, little or no power increase. You say pulley-as in one? You will need a new, shorter belt as well. And a friend with an impact gun, to get the pulley off.
^^^im running the same belt as before and no problem

over all i like this mod
If your ever going to s/c your engine this is a waste, just an fyi.... I had a udp, and now I have an overdrive pulley :P
Yeah it comes with it's own belt, so I'm set in that regard.

Gas savings is a great way to justify a purchase to the wife!!

5.7" C-F-M overdrive crank pulley.
No supercharging for me. Only so much I can do in my apartment's poorly lit outdoor parking lot.

I know what you mean I tell my GF that this part will give me better gas mileage, and she is happy i'm buying it.

Wonder if I can get away with saying that the turbo kit I want will double fuel economy. :P

Do you get the belt as well? coz the stock belt won't do.

the biggest adv of having a UPD is you won't get performance hit when A/C is on, and maybe rev a bit faster. That's about it.

yes it is easy to install, IF you can get the bolt off.
You sure that your AEM unit is a CRANK pulley? Most of them are only alternator pulleys, which are a PITA to install, and don't do squat.
Its funny how all you guys had big problems taking off your crank pulley. I never did to tell you the truth lol. Maybe because my car had an UDP slapped on it before it even hit its first oil change
started moddin it in the first days eh
put in ratch in place, add breaker bar against the ground, turn the key and let the battery do the job for u.
that sounds risky....

I had an AEM Cold Air Intake, Unorthodox Racing UDP and a Magnaflow Cat Back on my car before 5000km's
I'll never forget those good ol' days :)
