Denon + Klipsch = Tha Bomb!

I sold Klipsch, Energy, Athena, and Mission speakers back in the day (ok, 3 years ago :) ). Klipsch were by far my favorite for rock/home theater (better bass, better 'projection' of voice). Mission were my fav's for jazz and acoustic music (smoother).

For home theater, I'd go with a Denon 1800 series amp (or above) and Klipsch speakers.

The one nice thing with the Klipsch is that since they are such an efficient speaker, you can power them with anything. The higher the current (Denon, Onkyo, HK, Integra, Marrantz, etc.) the better. They still sound great with average amps though (Sony, Panasonic, JVC, Yamaha).

Myself currently, I have a crappy JVC amp, Panasonic DVD audio capable DVD player, and System Audio SA1110 speakers (awesome little bookshelf speakers!). Pretty bad for a so-called audiophile and connaiseur.

I went hunting online for the surround speakers that match my exsisting setup...wound up finding a place in Yonkers NY. They had several pairs ins stock, and were asking a price I couldn't refuse ($270.00 US per pair). These same speakers a year a go were over $800 cdn ($640-$680 on sale) at Klipsch retailers in the golden horseshoe...so even with duties and stuff, I'm still getting 2 pairs for less than the cost of one a year ago...

They have already been shipped, and are due to arrive on Friday, according to UPS.

Klipsch RS25....now I can have a 5.1, or 6.1 OR 7.1 setup if I want. I went out and found a shop here in town that had the speaker stands I wanted/needed (Quest EM500) that are the same brand/style as the ones I already have...so now all the speakers and stands match...just need to go and buy about $100 worth of 12 or 10 guage speaker wire for the surrounds (30+ ft per run).

Then I'll be done...finally, like 1.5 years later! lol!
Hey, can you post up that store that has the klipsch speakers?

thanks
Yeah...

this is the place that had them on an auction on ebay, but actually gave me a better overall deal by talking to them directly over the phone...also faster time to ship out (the guy I talked to had them all packaged the same night I bought them, AFTER they were closed, and shipped them yesterday morning).

They have several good prices on a few things...like the RC35 center, RW12 sub, etc...

Oh yeah, I also went out and found some 14 gauge speaker wire...around 100 ft spool, was $91 at the Source...so, I'll be ready for when the cabinets get here.

Also, I will leave some feedback here when they come, as to if they ARE BNIB condition, etc...and how they sound, both alone, AND in multi-channel...

Good luck to you too!
Well, after friggin brokerage fees, having to buy a second $90 spool of wire, some setup, etc...got a 5.1 system set up. After it was wired and fired, I made sure that everything was working, and then plugged in the Mic to my receiver, and had it do it's room acoustic calibration. After that was done, I decided to try some DVD's in both Dolby Digital, and in DTS. I can say that the Marantz/Klipsch setup is certainly stunning when you use DTS. Some dolby soundtracks like King Kong were very detailed, with a lot of ambient jungle noise in the backgound, and also water and steerage noise from the scenes on the ship. The soundstage is huge now, and with some movies like the Gladiator DTS ES 6.1 DVD, the fight scenes are STUPID loud without distortion. Only thing now is, I think that my Sub is too small, or I need another one...it's not as noticeable as it used to be before the rear speakers.

Anyways, I'm done now...finally (well, besides using the 2nd pair of cabinets I bought, and getting wires and stands for them too).
